Zierlein says Bijan at 12 is a serious possibility
I hate the idea of a rebuilding team drafting a running back, regardless of how good, high in the first round. We have way too many holes to fill. I would much rather add an Achane in the 3rd round if available or a Deuce Vaughn type later on.

Now if I'm the Eagles and already a SB team, adding a dynamic player like Bijan actually makes sense.
100% agree with this. RB is one of our strongest positions anyways and it's not like we are committing a bunch of cap space to it.

I agree with the thought process but I disagree with the thought that RB is one the strongest positions. I guess it could be but that's speaking to how talent lacking this entire roster is.

They have Pierce and that's it. Rex Burkhead was getting meaningful carries. That's bad

They have to get a decent RB that can be a compliment to Pierce and help to take some of the workload off him.

Pierce + Singletary is pretty solid. Not worth a high pick at least.

My gut says if Carolina takes Young at 1 we still might have to take a QB at 2 regardless of what the rest of the class is. Whether it's Stroud, Levis, or Richardson it's just feels too difficult to bypass at 2, for Caserio or Ryans.

If for any reason they pass on a QB I'm coming around on the idea of Wilson. There's an argument to be made that Anderson is as good now as he's going to get and Wilson can still be molded into something more impactful with his size and abilities. Carter is a game wrecker but I haven't seen Houston linked to him anywhere.

I normally hate the idea of a RB in the first round considering how much proof there is of value everywhere in the league for taking one later. But let's say Houston takes a QB at 2, any QB. If Bijan is on the board I don't hate that pick at all. I like him better than any WRs in this entire draft class. A backfield roster of Bijan, Pierce, and Singletary and a decent o-line will be a problem for other teams. I think he's going to be gone before 12 though, there's lots of smoke about Atlanta taking Bijan at 8. I think they can afford the risk, he's a great RB prospect that immediately bolsters the offense.

If Bijan gets past ATlanta and is there at 12, it may be our best way to get another 2024 first rounder by trading down. To be fair I never watched bijan play and last night rewatched the LSU A&M game and Achane was unstoppable against SEC defenders so I prefer our guy. His kickoff return ability and speed are valuable and he would work well with DP I think.

Too many other needs in round 1. Metchie coming back healthy adds to our slot and WR depth.

I stand corrected. I completely forgot they added Singletary.

To that point, they seem to have added a lot of smart depth to the roster so a lot of the needs are not quite as glaring as they were at the end of the season.

They can probably draft BPA all the way down and come out ahead in this draft.

Bijan is also the only guy in this draft that they could take at 12 specifically with the intent of flipping him immediately on draft night. A lot of teams are going to hope he slips into the 20s and I don't think it happens. If they take him they could immediately have a possible bidding war after the fact. Supposedly Jerry wants him bad. Bijan has speed, power, and a great cut, the most missed tackles in college this year. He also has good hands. Keep in mind Ryans and Slowik came from SF where they traded for CM even after injury and a pricey contract for a RB. I don't think they take Bijan, but it wouldn't be a shock to me. The ideal move is still to trade back and get more assets if possible.

Has any of the draft gurus talked about why Andersons' production was way down from what they were in '21, almost across the board? Same amount of games. And that game against Texas, with all those offsides that kept their drives alive, yeesh.

On the radio they said Alabama played him more on the inside this past year instead of playing wide like in the past. Not sure why Bama did that. But, apparently when interviewed, Anderson said he didn't care for that and DeMeco told him he would play out wide if in Houston.

So who is everyone leaning towards?

Thinking Will Anderson.. DeMeco gets his defensive play maker

Also could see Texans moving up from 12.. Teams inquiring about moving down.

I'm thinking it's going to be Tyree Wilson at number 2 and Levis with the 2nd pick if he's available

Do you think there is any shot at getting Trey Lance in a trade instead of drafting a QB?

Why? I'm not a Stroud fan as I think he played with NFL receivers his entire career against defenses that might as well have been air. But I don't get the fascination with Levis at 2.

Aren't you supposed to tell us? LOL

Anderson is the safest pick at 2 if they don't trade back, he just makes sense to me with Ryans as head coach. Call me crazy but I think one or two of the first round QBs is still going to be there at 12. It's guaranteed that Carolina and Indy take QBs but I could see every team after Indy passing on QBs barring a trade up by another team.

Arizona is going best defensive player, Anderson, Carter, or Wilson.
Seattle goes the way of Arizona.
Detroit takes best corner on their board since they traded Okudah.
LV is a wild card, I think they take best offensive lineman on their board but they have a lot of needs.
Atlanta is going to give Ridder a shot at QB, Robinson is in the mix or anywhere on the defense.
Chicago takes an offensive lineman.
Philly takes best defender on their board.
Tennessee has Tannehill and Willis, I'm really skeptical that they'd go QB here. I think they draft anyone but a QB.
Then Houston is back to the podium and they take their pick of who's left between Stroud, Levis, or Richardson.

All this drives me crazy because I had gotten on board with Stroud, then he flunked the S2, now he feels untouchable at 2 because of that.

My favorite scenario would be to come away with either Anderson or Wilson, preferably Anderson, after a small trade down, and Richardson, such that we are draft capital neutral or slightly positive.

That would be a good, good day.
LincolnBorglum79

Ideal scenario is to trade with Indy and draft Tyree Wilson at 4, Jalen Carter at 12 and add pick 35 from Indy and their first round pick next year and announcing a trade for Trey Lance for a conditional pick next year along with a 6-7 rounder this year. We have picks 33 and 35 on Friday night to get achane and best WR available.

What if they want Stroud before we pick him?

Hell ARI may pick him or trade out of #3 with someone who wants him.

The board consensus is that Levis is a bust but for some reason there is a lot of love for Trey Lance, who is likely to be a bigger bust based on his limited history.

Drafting a QB is such a crapshoot and that makes this draft especially interesting.

I'd be OK with that but I don't see Levis dropping to 12. I'm not sure drops beyond Indy.

What would you prefer

2-Anderson
12-Levis Richardson or Stroud. I too think 1 of them will fall.

Vs

2-make sure you get the QB you want
12-Nolan Smith, Van Ess or Kancey from Pitt whoever they have as the best defender left
