Now that the free agency frenzy has cooled off, here's the second edition. Third and final edition will come closer to the draft.

1. Carolina Panthers - CJ STROUD, QB
  • Now that the Panthers have traded up to the one slot, it's apparent they have their eyes on someone specific. All signs are pointing to CJ Stroud as being the QB1 of the future for Carolian. PREVIOUS: INDIANAPOLIS COLTS - BRYCE YOUNG

2. Houston Texans - BRYCE YOUNG, QB
  • The Texans end up not needing to trade up to select Bryce Young. The franchise that's been desperate for a franchise QB gets their guy. PREVIOUS: HOUSTON TEXANS - CJ STROUD

3. Arizona Cardinals - WILL ANDERSON JR, EDGE
  • The Cardinals are a mess. They can go a variety of directions here but in the age of edge rushers Anderson is a perfect fit. There is some potential that the Cardinals trade down for one of the teams vying for a QB, but for now they'll take an impact edge rusher. PREVIOUS: ARIZONA CARDINALS - WILL ANDERSON JR

4. Indianapolis Colts - ANTHONY RICHARDSON, QB
  • The Colts new Head Coach has had success with Jalen Hurts. Anthony Richardson would bring some similar qualities to the new-look Indanapolis team. PREVIOUS: CHICAGO BEARS - DEVON WITHERSPOON

5. Seattle Seahawks - TYREE WILSON, EDGE
  • The Seahawks tied up Geno Smith for a few years so it's unlikely they'll spring for a project QB this year. They are a candidate to trade back but Tyree Wilson plays a premium position of need. PREVIOUS: SEATTLE SEAHAWKS - TYREE WILSON

6. Detroit Lions - JALEN CARTER, DL
  • It's hard to tell how far Jalen Carter will fall due to his off-the-field issues. That said, there are multiple scouts saying that Carter should still go top 10. If there's a head coach that can help mature, it's Dan Campbell. PREVIOUS: DETROIT LIONS - JALEN CARTER

7. Las Vegas Raiders - WILL LEVIS, QB
  • The Raiders get the cannon-armed Will Levis here. They may be content with riding Jimmy G for a season but the Raiders have notoriously liked flashy players in the draft. Levis fits that mold with his booming arm. PREVIOUS: LAS VEGAS RAIDERS - ANTHONY RICHARDSON

8. Atlanta Falcons - NOLEN SMITH, EDGE
  • The Falcons take Georgia's own, Nolan Smith. The Falcons could benefit from some pressure off the edge and Smith had impressive numbers at the combine. PREVIOUS: ATLANTA FALCONS - QUENTIN JOHNSTON

9. Chicago Bears - BRODERICK JONES, T
  • The Bears solidified that Justin Fields is their quarterback. The best way to help Fields is improve is by keeping him on his feet. Broderick Jones has been gaining steam as of late and could end up being the first tackle taken. Brod PREVIOUS: CAROLINA PANTHERS - WILL LEVIS

10. Philadelphia Eagles - PARIS JOHNSON JR, G/T
  • The Eagles were able to re-sign quite a bit of their defensive starters. To help Jalen Hurts continue to develop they'll need to continue to give him the best offense line in the league to work behind. PREVIOUS: PHILADEPHIA EAGLES - CALIJAH KANCEY

11. Tennessee Titans - PETER SKORONSKI, T
  • The Titans could be going full-blown rebuild with the Derrick Henry trade rumors floating around. A stud tackle is a key position to build from. PREVIOUS: TENNESSEE TITANS - PETER SKORONSKI

12. Houston Texans - JAXON SMITH-NJIGBA, WR
  • The Texans get their new QB1 a big time playmaker. PREVIOUS: HOUSTON TEXANS - JAXON SMITH-NJIGBA

13. New York Jets - DALTON KINCAID, TE
  • The Aaron Rodgers saga continues. Rodgers let it be known that he wants weapons to utilize with the Jets as he still anticipates playing in New York. Kincaid would be a huge upgrade over their current TE stable. PREVIOUS: NEW YORK JETS - PARIS JOHNSON JR

14. New England Patriots - BRIAN BRANCH, S
  • Brian Branch is a versatile defender. Seems like a fit for Bill Belicheck. PREVIOUS: NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS - BRIAN BRANCH

15. Green Bay Packers - MICHAEL MAYER, TE
  • Aaron Rodgers or Jordan Love will both benefit from a big bodied TE. PREVIOUS: GREEN BAY PACKERS - DALTON KINCAID

16. Washington Commanders - DEVON WITHERSPOON, CB
  • Could the Commanders be a dark horse in the Lamar Jackson sweepstakes? Potentially. In this case, they keep this first round pick and benefit from the CB slide this year. PREVIOUS: WASHINGTON COMMANDERS - BRODERICK JONES

17. Pittsburgh Steelers - CHRISTIAN GONZALEZ, CB
  • It's very possible Christian Gonzalez is taken much earlier but the Steelers benefit from the fall. PREVIOUS: PITTSBURGH STEELERS - CHRISTIAN GONZALEZ

18. Detroit Lions - LUKAS VAN NESS, EDGE
  • The Detroit Lions develop one of the best defensive fronts in the league this draft. Adding Jalen Carter and Lukas Van Ness to the already dominant Aiden Hutchinson creates nightmares for opposing offenses. PREVIOUS: DETROIT LIONS - JOEY PORTER JR

19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - CALIJAH KANCEY, DL
  • Kyle Trask and Baker Mayfield will be leading the way for the quickly depleted Buccaneers. They could go a variety of directions as they're now in the hunt for the number one pick in 2024. PREVIOUS: TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS - BIJAN ROBINSON

20. Seattle Seahawks - MYLES MURPHY, EDGE
  • The Seahawks double-down on edge defenders here by taking Myles Murphy. Can you imagine the headaches offensive line coaches will have trying to gameplan around Murphy and Tyree Wilson? PREVIOUS: SEATTLE SEAHAWKS - MYLES MURPHY

21. Los Angeles Chargers - QUENTIN JOHNSTON, WR
  • Aging, oft-injured, WR corps means the Chargers have to go WR here to give Justin Herbert any possibility for growth. PREVIOUS: LOS ANGELES CHARGERS - JORDAN ADDISON

22. Baltimore Ravens - JOEY PORTER JR, CB
  • Signs are pointing to the Ravens being without Lamar Jackson. If he doesn't hold out and plays on the franchise tag they could go WR to add a weapon for him. In any case, Joey Porter Jr could help them try and slow down Joe Burrow for a few seasons. PREVIOUS: BALTIMORE RAVENS - ZAY FLOWERS

23. Minnesota Vikings - DEONTE BANKS, CB
  • Best available player at a position of need. PREVIOUS: MINNESOTA VIKINGS - DEONTE BANKS

24. Jacksonville Jaguars - BIJAN ROBINSON, RB
  • The Jaguars could help by adding protection up front. But, it's the Jaguars. They'll shoot for the stars with Bijan Robinson and give Trevor Lawrence another weapon to utilize. PREVIOUS: JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS - O'CYRUS TORRENCE

25. New York Giants - ZAY FLOWERS, WR
  • Franchise QB, Daniel Jones, needs a steady target. Flowers boosted his stock at the combine enough to vault him over Jordan Addison. PREVIOUS: NEW YORK GIANTS - MICHAEL MAYER

26. Dallas Cowboys - JACK CAMPBELL, LB
  • The Cowboys addressed quite a few needs in free-agency so they are pretty flexible here. If one of the big-two Tight Ends fall they may go that route. If Bijan Robinson falls, they may go that route. Jack Campbell had an impressive combine so his stock seems to be trending up. PREVIOUS: DALLAS COWBOYS - DREW SANDERS

27. Buffalo Bills - CAM SMITH, DB
  • The Bills are pretty well-rounded on paper. They could use a LB or depth at DB, TE, or RB. Unfortunately, the previous pick didn't have a great combine and was out-performed by Cam Smith. PREVIOUS: BUFFALO BILLS - ANTONIO JOHNSON

28. Cincinnati Bengals - DAWAND JONES, T
  • The Bengals like big bodies up front. Dawand Jones fits that mold. Joe Burrow is the key to the Bengals success so they need to protect him at all costs. PREVIOUS: CINCINNATI BENGALS - EMMANUAL FORBES

29. New Orleans Saints - BRYAN BREESE, DL
  • The Saints need defensive front help. Breese is the top player available. PREVIOUS: NEW ORLEANS SAINTS - LUKAS VAN NESS

30. Philadelphia Eagles - ANTONIO JOHNSON, S
  • The Eagles were able to address some offensive line needs earlier in the first round. While Antonio Johnson didn't have a great combine, he's an improvement over their current Safety depth. (Somewhat wishful thinking also). PREVIOUS: PHILADELPHIA EAGLES - BRYAN BREESE

31. Kansas City Chiefs - ANTON HARRISON, T
  • The Chiefs lost quite a few key players in the off-season. First priority should be replacing Orlando Brown Jr. PREVIOUS: KANSAS CITY CHIEFS - WILL MCDONALD IV

Good mock draft! A few thoughts:

As a Texans fan, I'm fixated on who Carolina wants at 1. The consensus seems to be Stroud, although nobody can really point out why except Reich has never had a smaller QB. I prefer Young, so I hope your pick is right, but I've made my peace with Stroud if it goes the other way. Texans should get a QB who can succeed in their offense either way...it just feels like Young has a little more of that late game magic than Stroud does.

If the Colts don't end up with Lamar, then AR makes a lot of sense. Could be scary with Steichen.

I think Carter goes to Seattle. Makes way too much sense.

Somebody is going to take Levis in the first round, but I think that is too high. With Jimmy G on board, QB is not an immediate issue. Hooker in the second round makes more sense for Vegas.

It's getting real popular to put JSN to the Texans at 12, but that only makes sense to me if they think JSN can play on the outside. Yes, he is a playmaker, but if he is limited to the slot, then drafting Metchie in the second round last year was a wasted pick. One of those guys has to play outside unless they are going to bring back the run-and-shoot. I think if they go wide receiver, then trading back and getting Johnston or Hyatt makes more sense. I think they'll take a DE like Murphy or Van Ness.

I don't think Cristian Gonzalez falls to 17. Dude is a stud...top 10.

I could see Bijan going in the top 10 or falling to the end of the first. Far and away the top back...just a matter of how much teams value that position.

Only one LB in the first round and it's Jack Campbell? Interesting. I think there will be a few legit values at LB in the second round. Would love to see Drew Sanders in Houston.

I really hope Antonio Johnson goes in the first, but I'm pessimistic. Seems like a lock for the second round, where Achane probably goes as well. If Achane is there in the third, Texans need to send in that card. Love the idea being thrown around as Achane as a hybrid back/receiver.

Is there any chance the Texans don't go for a QB at #2? I'm just not psyched about Bryce Young at all. I'd rather draft a defensive stud and roll with Keenum for a year. Next year's QB class looks way more exciting.

I would put the chances at very low. My guess is that Houston gets Stroud at #2 and the best DE available at number 12.

If the Texans roll with Case Keenum at QB then they're dumber than anyone ever anticipated, they'd lose any good will/excitement they've built up recently, and Caserio should lose his job immediately.

Case Keenum is a never has been who at this point is only here to hold a clip board and babysit the new QB.

Hell I'd rather see them trot out Davis Mills over Keenum. My stomach churns just thinking about Keenum being the starter of this team.

I feel for Broncos fan. Russ looks done, and probably isn't going anywhere. Payton will probably get the most out of him, but I don't think there is much toothpaste to squeeze out of that tube. I see Denver being in football purgatory for at least a few seasons.

I would be SHOCKED if they don't take a QB with the second pick. Keenum is supposed to be a backup/mentor and nothing more than that. Wouldn't mind them keeping Mills around for another year...maybe in a better scheme with Keenum around as a mentor, he could grow...think he could be a good backup in the league. But, I don't know how if they'll carry three, and some QB hungry team might see something in him and swap you a late rounder for him.

Everyone said that about this year's class leading up to last year's draft. I predict that next year's QB class will be talked about and picked apart for months leading up to the draft, and you'll then start to see people say "well 2025's QB class looks way more exciting". Rinse, repeat.

The Final Draft week edition.

1. Carolina Panthers - BRYCE YOUNG, QB
  • All signs are now pointing to Bryce Young as being the Panthers pick at 1. He's touted as the most NFL ready quarterback in this draft so it only makes sense here. PREVIOUS: CAROLINA PANTHERS - CJ STROUD

2. Houston Texans - CJ STROUD, QB
  • I'm not buying the rumors of the Texans going non-QB here. Sure, Will Anderson would be a nice edition but I think the Jadeveon Clowney pick still haunts the organization. They need to go best quarterback available here. PREVIOUS: HOUSTON TEXANS - BRYCE YOUNG

3. Arizona Cardinals - WILL ANDERSON JR, EDGE
  • The Cardinals are a mess. There's a chance they move back here as there are some quality options in the later top 10 picks. Watch out for Tyree Wilson here also if they keep the 3 spot. Wilson has been gaining momentum and multiple organizations are saying they prefer him over Anderson. PREVIOUS: ARIZONA CARDINALS - WILL ANDERSON JR

4. Indianapolis Colts - ANTHONY RICHARDSON, QB
  • The Colts new Head Coach has had success with Jalen Hurts. Anthony Richardson would bring some similar qualities to the new-look Indanapolis team. Richardson has a lot of quality film. It seems like some of his "accuracy issues" weren't really his problem and more the team around him. Either way, Richardson is a high ceiling guy that needs some fine tuning. PREVIOUS: INDIANAPOLIS COLTS - ANTHONY RICHARDSON

6. Detroit Lions - DEVON WITHERSPOON, CB
  • The Lions traded former first rounder, Jeff Odukah, making CB a position of need. Witherspoon has been impressive and is the type of competitor Dan Campbell likes. PREVIOUS: DETROIT LIONS - JALEN CARTER

7. Las Vegas Raiders - JALEN CARTER, DL
  • The Raiders don't need to take a QB here with the addition of Jimmy Garappolo. The Raiders don't mind gambling on players with a history of off-the-field issues. Carter fills a glaring need and is arguably the most NFL ready defensive player in the draft. PREVIOUS: LAS VEGAS RAIDERS - WILL LEVIS

8. Atlanta Falcons - BIJAN ROBINSON, RB
  • The Falcons could fill any position here. Historically, the Falcons like to take high upside offensive weapons so Bijan Robinson continues that trend. Robinson has always been the top RB in the draft class but he has been skyrocketing up draft boards as of late. He could easily be a top 10 pick. Plus, if the Falcons are serious about letting Desmond Ridder take the reigns, Robinson is a great outlet for him in the backfield. PREVIOUS: ATLANTA FALCONS - NOLEN SMITH

9. Chicago Bears - BRODERICK JONES, T
  • The Bears solidified that Justin Fields is their quarterback. The best way to help Fields is improve is by keeping him on his feet. Broderick Jones has been gaining steam as of late and could end up being the first tackle taken. Jones is the highest upside tackle in the draft so letting him grow with Fields could lead to multiple years of success. PREVIOUS: CAROLINA PANTHERS - BRODERICK JONES

10. Philadelphia Eagles - PARIS JOHNSON JR, G/T
  • The Eagles were able to re-sign quite a bit of their defensive starters. To help Jalen Hurts continue to develop they'll need to continue to give him the best offense line in the league to work behind. PREVIOUS: PHILADEPHIA EAGLES - PARIS JOHNSON JR

11. Tennessee Titans - WILL LEVIS, QB
  • Ryan Tannehill is on the downhill side of his career, Malik Willis looked pretty horrible when is was under center. The Titans could take the cannon-armed Will Levis to fill their void. PREVIOUS: TENNESSEE TITANS - PETER SKORONSKI

12. Houston Texans - JAXON SMITH-NJIGBA, WR
  • The Texans get their new QB1 a big time playmaker. Reuniting a QB with a WR worked out for the Bengals, so the Texans try that method out. PREVIOUS: HOUSTON TEXANS - JAXON SMITH-NJIGBA

13. New York Jets - PETER SKORONSKI, T
  • The Aaron Rodgers saga continues. Rodgers is expected to be QB1 in New York but the deal hasn't been finalized. The Jets may potentially send this pick to Green Bay, but if they're able to keep it going offensive line makes sense. While Rodgers would prefer a weapon, keeping him on his feet is priority one. PREVIOUS: NEW YORK JETS - DALTON KINCAID

14. New England Patriots - DALTON KINCAID, TE
  • Bill Belicheck loves his Tight Ends. Kincaid has the makings of being a Rob Gronkowski-lite. Kincaid would provide immediate help to Mac Jones. I still think Brian Branch is in play here also. PREVIOUS: NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS - BRIAN BRANCH

15. Green Bay Packers - JORDAN ADDISON, WR
  • After all the years of Aaron Rodgers complaining about never adding weapons, the Packers draft a WR in the first round when he's gone. PREVIOUS: GREEN BAY PACKERS - MICHAEL MAYER

16. Washington Commanders - CHRISTIAN GONZALEZ, CB
  • If Christian Gonzalez falls, this is a no-brainer pick for the Commanders. PREVIOUS: WASHINGTON COMMANDERS - DEVON WITHERSPOON

17. Pittsburgh Steelers - LUKAS VAN NESS, EDGE
  • Pairing Lukas Van Ness with TJ Watt would cause nightmares for opposing offensive lines. PREVIOUS: PITTSBURGH STEELERS - CHRISTIAN GONZALEZ

18. Detroit Lions - CALIJAH KANCEY, DL
  • The Detroit Lions passed on Jalen Carter earlier in the draft in favor of a future star CB. They're able to fill the void on the defensive front here with another promising lineman. PREVIOUS: DETROIT LIONS - LUKUS VAN NESS
19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - BRIAN BRANCH, S
  • Kyle Trask and Baker Mayfield will be leading the way for the quickly depleted Buccaneers. They could go a variety of directions as they're now in the hunt for the number one pick in 2024. Brian Branch is an extremely versatile defender who can help in multiple areas. PREVIOUS: TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS - CALIJAH KANCEY

20. Seattle Seahawks - O'CYRUS TORRENCE, G
  • The Seahawks continue to build the trenches. Guard is a position of need and O'Cyrus Torrence is the best guard prospect in the draft. PREVIOUS: SEATTLE SEAHAWKS - MYLES MURPHY

21. Los Angeles Chargers - QUENTIN JOHNSTON, WR
  • Aging, oft-injured, WR corps means the Chargers have to go WR here to give Justin Herbert any possibility for growth. PREVIOUS: LOS ANGELES CHARGERS - QUENTIN JOHNSTON

22. Baltimore Ravens - JOEY PORTER JR, CB
  • I think Lamar Jackson will be back in Baltimore. Facing Joe Burrow and the pass heavy Bengals means needing a talented secondary, Joey Porter is their guy. PREVIOUS: BALTIMORE RAVENS - JOEY PORTER JR

23. Minnesota Vikings - DEONTE BANKS, CB
  • Best available player at a position of need. PREVIOUS: MINNESOTA VIKINGS - DEONTE BANKS

24. Jacksonville Jaguars - NOLAN SMITH, EDGE
  • The Jaguars may be wise to take protection for Trevor Lawerence but Nolan Smith is too good of a prospect to pass on here. Edge is also a weaker position on this roster so he's a fine fit. PREVIOUS: JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS - BIJAN ROBINSON

25. New York Giants - EMMANUEL FORBES, CB
  • I've previously been consistent on the Giants going for an offensive weapon but cornerback is a glaring need. PREVIOUS: NEW YORK GIANTS - ZAY FLOWERS

PREVIOUS: DALLAS COWBOYS - JACK CAMPBELL

27. Buffalo Bills - ZAY FLOWERS, WR
  • The Bills are pretty well-rounded on paper. This pick is purely a luxury that gives Josh Allen another big time target. PREVIOUS: BUFFALO BILLS - CAM SMITH

28. Cincinnati Bengals - JULIUS BRENTS, CB
  • I've been all over the place on the Bengals. I'm stealing this one from Kiper and McShay. Brents has seemed to make his way up many teams draft boards. The Bengals could benefit from a big bodied CB. PREVIOUS: CINCINNATI BENGALS - DAWAND JONES

29. New Orleans Saints - MYLES MURPHY, EDGE
  • The Saints need defensive front help. Murphy is the top player available. PREVIOUS: NEW ORLEANS SAINTS - BRYAN BREESE
30. Philadelphia Eagles - BRYAN BREESE, DL
  • The Eagles are another team focusing on the trenches. Breese is the best interior defensive lineman available. PREVIOUS: PHILADELPHIA EAGLES - ANTONIO JOHNSON

31. Kansas City Chiefs - ADETOMIWA ADEBAMORE, EDGE
  • The Chiefs can pair the explosive Adebamore with George Karlaftis to create a variety of pressures. PREVIOUS: KANSAS CITY CHIEFS - ANTON HARRISON

I just heard on ESPN radio that Levis is going to be the second qb taken. Not sure if that means the Texans are taking him but that's interesting to hear.

Could we see 4 QBs taken with the first 4 picks?

ARZ doesn't really need a QB but if Stroud is there do they take or does someone else move up to that spot to nab him?

Who is Bo Callahan in this draft? I'm going with CJ Stroud. Nobody went to his 21st birthday party.

Sounds like even Stroud forgot to attend his birthday!

At least CJ beat VY on the wonderlic….barely. His head coach was on ESPN radio yesterday saying he was the smartest player on the team….

Different test. Wonderlic is a measure of general intelligence and problem solving and the S2 is a measure of information processing speed…which is obviously important for a quarterback. And the percentile is only of the QBs in this draft class. PFF had a good podcast episode with the founders of the S2: https://open.spotify.com/episode/2rdLMgkVxhFB7oHPm1nBBs?si=e0k0ok4KRX-MBYJqI-UVhA

Point still stands though: Vince Young is a ****ing idiot.

CJ scored 18%. The next lowest out of the alleged top 8 qbs coming out was 46%. I don't know if that's an actual 18 out of 100 or that he scored in the lower 18 percentile overall. Either way, that ain't good. And yes, VY is an idiot. CJ ain't Einstein either though.
