So, I haven't seen a lot of press about this, but there is some real eye opening things that have been publicly revealed with Snyder, Goodall, and the NFL thanks to a criminal investigation into financial abuse. Apparently the NFL pretty much forced the former minority owners (who are all billionaires) into confidential arbitration when they brought up the fact that Snyder was abusing the Commanders financials, and had illegally procured a 55 million dollar loan via the commanders organization and with league approval (Goodall's signature is on the approval form). The league took all of that info, sided with Snyder and pretty much forced the minority owners out and they bought them out for a lot less than they should have gotten when Snyder sold the team 2 years later.

I wonder if this can be cause to oust Goodall?

I'm also shocked that this isn't getting more press everywhere, I came across the article randomly. Anyone else heard about any of these details? Have I just been living under a rock in regards to this?

There have been several times over the past few years that could/should have led to Goodell being ousted and it hasn't come close to happening.

At this point nothing will cause that to happen except for Goodell retiring.

True, but this is related to a criminal investigation into financial fraud, which is a first. Everything else has been civil suit related, but the NFL allowing owners to use teams to not only commit financial fraud, but to do it in a way that violates the corporate legal mandates of those teams (such as this where board approval was required to get the loan, and the league allowed Snyder to skip that) and then not only completely ignoring the board who brought it to them, but to brush them off by forcing a league handled mediation that was conducted confidentially under NDAs which the outcome was that the minority board owners were forced out . None of this would have been known if the criminal investigation hadn't started.

Then you have multiple ways that are coming to light that Snyder was fleecing the Washington organization for money, like charging the football organization millions a year in licensing fees to put the logo on his own plane.

My opinion is this is more about getting rid of Snyder as an owner than anything else.

This info came out pretty recently. Rumors are that Snyder is cash poor these days. In addition to the possibly fraudulent loan he charged the team he owns $4.5MM to put their logo on his plane, he didn't sell a plane to them, just put a logo on. Make no mistake, the NFL wants him out as an owner, but they also don't want to make a pure enemy out of him either. The man cannot get a new stadium built anywhere in the DMV area because none of the municipalities want to get into business with him. He also supposedly refuses to sell to Bezos because he owns the Washington Post, a newspaper that doesn't paint him in a favorable light, even though Bezos could offer more money than anyone else out there. IIRC the Commanders were also at the very bottom of the survey the players complete regarding the facilities available to them, I think it was them and Arizona at the bottom. There's not a lot of positives out there these days.

Goodell ain't going nowhere. He's made the league and owners too much money. Snyder on the other hand needs to sell that team. That state of the franchise report didn't do them any favors, in addition to all the other problems they have. Apparently they charge players & staff for coffee? That's so bush league.

Back in 2017, there was a poster that was adamant Jerry Jones was going to get rid of Goodell over the Zeke Elliott suspension because you just don't mess with Jerry. How did that turn out? Jerry paid the NFL's attorney's fees incurred in the appeals and later voted to give Goodell a raise.

Oddly, fans hate Goodell. He's a great scapegoat for the owners and he has made them a fortune. Snyder now selling his team for more than 6X what he paid for it.
