pepperoni, salami, black forest ham, provolone cheese and bacon. You'll get chubby pretty quick when you awkwardly gobble up 1000 cal at a time.

Russell Wilson was never an elite QB. Hth.
94chem,
That, sir, was the greatest post in the history of TexAgs. I salute you. -- Dough

I actually agree with you......but his stats and accolades state otherwise. Wilson career accomplishments are HOF worthy....especially if you let in Eli Manning to the HOF.

  • 9x Bro Bowler.
  • Super Bowl Champion
  • Has led the NFL in passer rating and touchdowns
  • 9 consecutive winning seasons in Seattle
  • 7 seasons with a passer rating over 100. This is probably Wilson's most impressive stat. As a comparison Tony Romo only had two seasons with a passer rating of over 100. Eli Manning NEVER had a season where he had a passer rating over 100.

the piss poor QB HOF standards were set with Troy Aikman and Terry Bradshaw

sure Colin Cowherd and Peter King will be there to induct him

Well....when those two quarterbacks played in the league defensive players were allowed to murder the quarterback if they got to him.

Defenders were also allowed to annihilate any receiver that came across the middle of the field.
If Quentin Coryatt replicated the "hit" in todays game....NFL or college.......he would be kicked out of the game.

Today's quarterbacks are always going to have much better numbers than players that played before they changed the defensive rules. You can't touch these guys anymore without getting a flag.

Troy Aikman and Terry Bradshaw got into the hall of fame because they were the quarterbacks of the most dominant NFL teams of their era.

Aikmans stats were pedestrian for his era and he had the best OL in the history of football and a top 5 RB of all time

Bradshaw played on the first team to use steroids so the OL and DL were also ahead of the rest

Neither one are hall of Fame QBsbit since they got in above avg players get in

Aikman stats were pedestrian because he wasn't a quarterback playing for his statistics. The 1990's Dallas Cowboys ran a power rushing offense that was not designed to maximize the quarterbacks stats.
Aikman directed an offense that was unstoppable because he rarely made mistakes....especially in big games.

The problem with your argument is that you seem to think the NFL HOF should be solely based on stats. Troy Aikman was the QB of a team that was able to consistently defeat all of the other biggest superstars and teams in the NFL for a period of 6 years (91-96).

The quarterbacks that put up great stats back in the 80's and 90's rarely won in the post season with the exception of San Francisco. Its very easy for a quarterback that is all about himself to put up great stats every year and not win at that high of a level.....see Brett Favre, Dan Marino and Warren Moon.

A lot of younger fans that did not watch those teams will use arguments that are based on hindsight. A lot of these hindsight arguments are used to tear down the Cowboys players because no one else could beat them.
"Emmit and Troy weren't that great.....it was just the offensive line."

"Troy, Emmitt and Michael weren't that great....it was just the defense...etc"

The vaunted offensive line that younger fans always refer to a were a bunch of journeyman and nobodies until Emmitt Smith started winning rushing titles every year. They were not high draft picks like the Cowboys offensive line of the past 10 year or so.

The Dallas Cowboys were the worst franchise in the NFL when they drafted Troy Aikman and Emmitt Smith.
They went from 3-13, 1-15, 7-9 to a dynasty almost overnight.

Any quarterback that is the centerpiece of a turnaround that dramatic will be in the HOF.
If the Jacksonville Jaguars were to suddenly win 3 of the next 4 Super Bowls then I promise you that Trevor Lawrence will be in the Hall of Fame.

weird flex my man.

You can keep responding to everyone on this thread with the smiley emoji, and it still won't take away Aikman's seat in the Hall of Fame or his 3 Super Bowl titles.

I believe I said he set the bar low bc of his mediocrity which will let Eli and Russ in

Nobody taking away nothing and you can still wear your Aikmans jersey to hooters

one strange thing about both Aikman's and Bradshaw's careers --- do they have any famous comeback wins?

especially in the postseason.

they played on such great teams...comebacks were seldom necessary

Comparing Bradshaw to Aikman is absurd. Bradshaw had more turnovers than total touchdowns in his career and Aikman's career QBR is nearly 15 points higher. Aikman in a modern NFL offense with today's rules and that supporting cast would put up video game numbers due to his accuracy. Imagine Drew Brees with better arm strength.

Steve Young is the only QB from the 80s or 90s whose efficiency metrics measure up to modern QBs. It's barely the same sport today as it was 30-40 years ago. The dramatic rules changes from the late 90s through the late 2000s fundamentally changed offensive football.
