I hate the NFL but love College Football - specifically the SEC. Love fantasy football but hate the "someone gets hurt or suspended" you're screwed element. Way too many players and too much time spent drafting.

So I have an idea but I just can't figure out how to pull it off. I want an SEC ONLY league, with TEAM positions. In other words, here are the starting positions....

1 - Team QB
1 - Team RB
1 - Team WR
1 - Team TE
1 - Team K
1 - Team D

That's it.

So let's say we have a 10 team league, and I drafted A&M Running Backs, Ole' Miss Quarterbacks, Mizzou Receivers, Florida Tight Ends, Georgia Defense, and Arkansas Kicker. However you decide to award points for each - you get them no matter which player scored them.

So using the Kent State game for an example - I get the TOTAL stats of A&M running backs. Doesn't matter if Spiller gets hurt - I get all the stats from the A&M running back position. Same with all the others.

Also - NO BACKUPS. Because injuries don't affect the totals, you don't need backups EXCEPT on bye weeks. So there is a "Bye Week Pool" of available positions (4 each week in this scenario) in which you can pick up a bye week plug-in from that pool for that week(s) only. So, if the Ags have a buy week this week, (after waiver wire transactions for the week are completed, if there are any) there will be 4 SEC Team RB's available in the pool, since we have 10 fantasy teams. Use whichever "waiver-wire" move award system you prefer, and after the buy week that team goes back into the pool.

Obviously you could do an SEC & BIG 12 ONLY league and have more options, but it wouldn't change the concepts. This is football I actually care about, instead of NFL garbage I don't. And this is much simpler for those of us who don't want to spend hours a week pouring over projections and waiver wire/free agent/injury junk.

Any thoughts?
