• Charlotte -2.5 (now -3): 49ers are better coached and have better talent. It's simple really.
• Army -7 (now -8.5): Miami Ohio has one of the worst rushing defenses in CFB. Army should run all over them. Redhawks offense doesn't scare me. Black Knights roll.
• SMU +10 (now +9.5): Haven't been super impressed by SMU or TCU thus far. I'll take the Mustangs getting 10 points in a rivalry game. I expect this to be a one score game the whole way.
• Utah State +9.5: I think Boise is the better team but Utah State is much improved and will be able to hang with the Broncos in a shootout. Give me the points.
• Texas Tech/Texas OVER 61.5 (now 62): Seems like these teams always get into a shootout and I expect no different this year. The teams have combined for 75, 73, and 119 points the last three times they've faced off. I don't see anything that leads me to believe it will be different this year.
• Washington State/Utah UNDER 55 (now 53.5): Utah has been extremely unimpressive this season, but the defense always seems to play better at home. These aren't the Mike Leach Cougars that we've grown accustomed to. I think both teams struggle to score points in this one and the total goes well below the number.
• Iowa State -6.5 (now -7): Look, I get it. Iowa State has been a disappointment. But I'm seeing lots of people pick Baylor to cover the spread and even upset them in Waco. Maybe they do. I'm not buying the hype on the Bears just yet. They've played Texas State, Texas Southern and Kansas. There's really nothing you can take away from those games. Are they improved? Definitely, but Iowa State is the better team and think they cover on Saturday.
• UCLA -4.5: I think we see a motivated Bruins team coming off a loss to Fresno State. They still can win the conference title. Fresno State is also a good team (they gave Oregon everything they can handle) and I don't want to overreact to that result. Stanford is scrappy but the Bruins should pull away and win by at least a touchdown.
• Michigan State -5: I know it seems like Nebraska is starting to figure it out, but this is a tough spot for the Huskers on the road after giving Oklahoma everything they had this week. I'm not completely sold on Michigan State just yet, but think the Spartans take care of business on Saturday.
• West Virginia +17: Oklahoma just hasn't looked that good. West Virginia almost imploded against Virginia Tech last week, but with the way the Sooners have been playing, I'll happily take the Mountaineers getting 17 points. OU certainly has more talent, but is this the week everything comes together? If not, West Virginia should be able to hang until the very end.
• North Carolina -12.5: Georgia Tech will be emotionally drained after a close loss to Clemson last week. UNC seems to be finally finding their mojo on offense and will give the Yellow Jackets defense much more problems than the Tigers did last week. Tar Heels win big. Easy cover.
• Western Kentucky +9: Indiana is coming off a brutal loss to Cincinnati last week and has a matchup with Penn State next week. Do we expect them to be motivated on the road against the Hilltoppers? Nope. WKU QB Bailey Zappe has been very good this year and that will continue this weekend against the Hoosiers. I don't hate taking the WKU moneyline in this one, but I'll take the spread to be safe.
