This Texans team reminds me of the team that made the playoffs, I believe in O'Briens first year, and then got smoked in the playoffs by the Chiefs.

Impressive win when you consider that Peters, Jamerson and Moore all got significant time on the field..... together! I think a better QB could have shredded that unit, but Case didn't have the chops to make us pay.

Injury bug keeps taking guys out. As long as we can hold on to the big 4 we got a chance, but the team is definitely taking a beating.

Nice to get the win. Hopefully we can use the bye week to send some guys to Germany to get ground-up horse fetus injected into their hamstrings.

I also think it might be worth looking at what the Saints are doing with Taysom Hill in short yardage situations and copy it with Joe Webb. It is clear we can't risk Watson by running sneaks and QB dives, but we can certainly gamble with Joe Webb's ribs.

Best thing about yesterday was the ability to eek out a win with a LOT of our key players out. This team is high and confidence right no rightfully so. Hopefully we don't rush guys bacl and we get back the majority after the bye week.

Has there been any word on Kevin Johnson? Not that I want him back, but a 9+ week concussion injury is concerning.

Kurt Warner with 49 in his first 16 games. Mahomes is on pace to come up 4 TDs short of that.

Edit: turns out he's actually thrown 29 in his first 10 games, so he's on pace for 46-47 depending on how you want to round it.

Luckily while we seem to be nicked up here and there, it doesn't seem like we have a lot of guys lost on the season. Fuller is probably the big one. I think Zach Fulton, Aaron Colvin and Coutee are supposed to be back soon. It seems like we get a lot of contributors back after the bye.

This is on a tangent... but in reading about Mond struggling in Jimbo's offense, one of the reasons given is that it's so complex and hard to grasp and takes so much time, yet guys like this and Jameis Winston were able to grasp it.

Maybe they dumbed it down and simple athleticism saved them. A great athlete can easily hide scheme problems

Jameis may be a knucklehead off the field, but his football IQ is not low. He also had a redshirt year to learn Jimbo's offense and then play with the most talented football team in CFB in 2013. Mond has had neither of these crutches.


**To bring this back to the thread subject before someone whines, I've heard often that BOB's offense can get very complex, but that hasn't seemed to phase Watson.

...and you can't assume things would have played out the same way going forward (but I will for the sake of the hypothetical), but if the Colts punt and pretty much cinch a tie against the Texans, it'd be interesting looking.

I think that decision by Frank Reich jumpstarted the Texans' run...a tie would have been very demoralizing for the Texans in that game, leaving them at 0-3-1 and who knows what the mindset is going forward.

That's a really good point

On the flipside if the Defense could have managed to shut down Eli Manning (Ranked 30 out of 33 in QBR) and Blaine Gabbert (would be ranked last in QBR if eligible) when it really mattered, we would be 8-1*.

Just think what the narrative would be if that were the case...
