There is something to be said that maybe turning over coaches every 2-3 years isn't a great answer in any league. Or is no guarantee if you have a dysfunctional organization.
He was with the Rams since 2012.
The Rams, Browns, Dolphins, Colts, Chiefs, Redskins, Bucs, and Vikings were the 8 divisional cellar dwellers that year.
The Browns are on their 4th head coach and aren't better off.
The Dolphins are on their 3rd head coach, and may make the playoffs this year, but if they don't, over that time still aren't much better than the Rams were/are.
The Colts are better, but the 2-14 that year was somewhat a fluke, were able to draft a great QB, but a better comparison might be the TItans. They are on their 3rd head coach with only hopes of playoffs this year (and it is a long stretch).
Chiefs, Vikings, & Redskins are better now with Andy Reid, Mike Zimmer & Jay Gruden than in 2011. All are on their 2nd coach since 2011.
In seasons where he had a training camp, Jason Garrett was Mr. .500 going into this year. It appears that consistency has been beneficial for them.
Not saying that Fisher is a great coach, but I just don't think the Rams were idiots for staying with him for 5 seasons. I just think the Rams are a bad organization in general.
