not only a very tough slate of teams to play, but also a very early bye week. i'm not gonna make any predictions right now, but i honestly do not remember a more brutal schedule in Cowboys history.

i think they need to focus on trying to go 8-0 or maybe 7-1 at home, and then hope they can get 2-3 wins on the road. if this team makes it through that schedule as the #1 seed in the playoffs...they deserve to be in the Super Bowl.

they may very well need to win BOTH of their last games (both on the road) to even make the playoffs.

Starting a little early this year with the glass half full stuff.

Only one Monday night game but several on NBC. Agreed on winning all home games. That road schedule is tough.

you dont agree its a very tough schedule? considering how tough that schedule is (at least imo,) i dont think its farfetched at all to say that those last 2 games may determine qualification for the playoffs or not.

Hands down the hardest schedule in the league next year. I think it is an absolute joke that we will not even see Philadelphia until December.

Early bye, Christmas night game...not to mention 5 of the final 6 games on the schedule are against playoff teams from last year, specifically the two Super Bowl teams...

Can't help but think the chips were intentionally stacked against them hosting the SB.

that is a crazy schedule. The AFC South is tough with the Colts, Texans, and Titans. And then all the other 1st place teams Vikings, Saints, and Cardinals. And throw in the Packers for good measure.

Based on last years final records, Houston has the hardest schedule, but I believe Dallas is in the top 5.

I was going to comment that both schedules looked very tough, as the texans see the AFC south teams twice, then get to see the cowboys division from the nfc, as well as the jets, chargers, and ravens, but i think both teams can still make the playoffs...

unfortunately not everyone can play in the NFC west...

Isn't this like the 3rd year in a row we have to play at Green Bay and 4th year in a row overall? When the F do they come to Dallas?

This board is gonna be like Rivals on steroids; staff should just hire some temp mods.

I'm guessing a 9-7, 10-6; but I could also easily see us go 8-8. That last half is a monster.

I'll be fascinated to see what happens if they roll into the Lions game with a dominant record (not saying it's likely)...

If the Lions are, well, the Lions, do they move that to a late start?

I'm guessing Joe Buck and Troy Aikman haven't covered a lot of Lions games lately.

As a "uniform nerd", I have to do this:

They'll wear blue twice all year (not counting throwbacks): at Washington & Houston.
BMX Bandit
How long do you want to ignore this user?
why would the lions game be moved?
Corporal Punishment

I don't know. I guess because in the past it seems like when Dallas is really good, Fox tries to make them the late game.
BMX Bandit

i guess i am so used to the games mostly being at 3 to begin with, i can't think of a time they have changed it from 12 to 3. has this happened a lot?

I'm no expert at this. My sense has been over the years that these game times get changed every now and then when the appeal of a coming game increases or declines. I could be wrong.

Does Houston wear white at home? I can understand why Washington changes to white because of the (pretty much dead) rivalry thing.

In general why do most college and NFL teams wear dark at home (except the Cowboys and LSU for example) when every other sport uses white?

Need the rest of the NFC East to be somewhat down next year. Need the Kolb experiment to blow up on Philly, Wash not to benefit as much as thought from McNabb, and NYG to keep muddling like they did after Sept last year.

Only 3 gimme games (lions, bears, Jags). Thats tough. Doesnt it also seem like Dallas plays @ GB every year? Maybe thats just me.....

You know, I think the division is going to be down a bit.

NY is barely over .500 since the SB win.

Wash's offense should be a bit better, but their OL hasn't really been fixed and they're defense is changing schemes. Are they really going to be better?

Philly is a big unknown. Kolb looked good in limited work last year, but once the league gets some film on him, will he have a slump? Plus, they have real issues at LB and S.

The last time a team played both Super Bowl teams the following season was 1993.
And it wasn't back to back.
Ouch.

BMX..although last year it didnt happen much (if at all), in previous years FOX especially has loved to move the Cowboys from noon to 3.

Brutal sked. I could see a realistic case for 8-8 and out of the playoffs even though the Cowboys will be better on paper than last year, just because of how rough the schedule is.

I'd say 10-6, but anything between 8-8 and 11-5 wouldn't surprise me.

when it comes to interconference play it has to do with where each team finishes the year before within its own division. theres a formula that dictates home/away games V same opponent. its not like playing teams from the other conference where you pretty much rotate home and away every 4 yrs.

its not a conspiracy against the cowboys.
ac

CPA, the Texans wear white for their early home games and switch to blue at midseason. The Cowboys visit Reliant Stadium in Week 3.

Football fans tend to identify more w/a team's color (red, blue, etc...)than white which is why most football teams wear colored uniforms at home. Of course, you have exceptions like the Cowboys & LSU. Its usualy warm weather teams who wear white at home as its more comfortable in the heat.
