Where are the Cowboys when these happen?!?!?!

5th rounder?!?!? Wouldn't Ginn be better in the slot than Crayton or Hurd?

Better than Crayton, no. Better than Hurd, yes.

Wow, that's a cheap price for a WR with that kid of speed that is also a great return man.

When you start talking about the kind of WRs that will be around in the 5th round, none will make the instant impact that a guy like Ginn, who is still just 25, will make on any team.

In my opinion, this is a great trade for the 49ers.

Ok trade, its a low-risk gamble by the 49ers.

Didn't the Dolphins draft Ginn in the 1st round?

Over-rated then. Worth a 5th rounder now.

keep in mind ginn was drafted by the regime before parcells/sparano. so they had no allegiance to him, nor would they have to worry that it would make them look bad for having taken him in the first place.

it was just a gross miscalculation by the dolphins trying to get the "next" devin hester.

I doubt he'll play KO coverage or punt coverage like Hurd does for Dallas.

How many years left does Ginn left have on his contract? He's probably getting way too much and will be gone in a year or two, diminishing his trade value.

Way to go Miami. Trade Welker to open up room for Ginn. Reach like the Raiders for Ted Ginn in the top ten, then trade him for nothing.

Ginn was picked over:
Patrick Willis
Darrelle Revis
Michael Griffin
Brandon Meriweather
Jon Beason
Sidney Rice
LaMarr Woodley
Pierre Thomas

Isnt Ginn worth better than a 5th rounder for his return duties alone? Hell he single handedly beat the Jets last year when he ran back 2 kicks. I think 49ers got a pretty good deal, even if he doesnt sniff the field as a WR.

Teddy is WITHOUT A DOUBT worth a 5th Rd pick, adn without a doubt will contribute more than any other 5th rounder this season.

I agree with the OP..where are the Cowboys in all this?

He'll have an impact as a return man, but I wouldn't use a 5th round pick on a kick returner. Maybe Ginn develops into something, but he hasn't shown much substance thus far except for speed.

without having any hard numbers i'd venture to guess that 5th rounders average NFL life expectancy probably is in the 2-3 yr range at MAX.

i think its a safe bet Teddy will be in the league much longer than that. sure theres a chance you'll hit on a more long term player in the 5th, but theres a much greater chance you wont.

He averages 550+ yards receiving a year. That's not bad for a team where he will be a secondary option.

He's definitely not the top 10 pick he was billed as coming out of tOSU, but he's a definite NFL WR/KR.

orlando- true, but then again they are going to have to pay a "fifth rounder" first round money.

Seems like Ginn was well worth a 5th round pick. Heck if I was the Cowboys I would have considering using the 4th round pick on Ginn. He would fill a huge need on special teams if nothing else.

He's a horrible receiver... BAD hands. I only watched and/or listened to a couple Miami games last year, but dude is not to be trusted to catch the damn ball.

neither is Roy Williams...and he's the Cowboys so called #1 WR.

I've always liked Crayton in the slot. He's a terrible #2 receiver though. I could live without Ginn - but I'm still bitter than we weren't interested in Brandon Marshall.

Sign Darren Sharper for Safety.
Draft Taylor Mays if he falls that far, if not a OT and take a safety later in the draft. Use that 2nd (and another 2nd) to take Brandon Marshall. Team is loaded and an instant favorite to win the NFC. Instead we'll probably trade down or some stupid crap that Jerry always does.

i'm pretty sure we wont be trading for brandon marshall. call it a hunch.

We won't be trading for Tedd Ginn either. It was my ideal scenario for the 'boys for the past couple of weeks.
