I know it had to go. However, there are so many good memories that were a part of that stadium. It opened the same year my family moved to the Dallas/Ft Worth area (1971). It will be missed.

Ive lived here my hole life (29 years) and I am more than happy that the eye sore is finally gone...for as good as the Cowboys have been they had the worst damn stadium in the league

I was sad to see it go. So many great memories there. I grew up in Plano, and as I kid, I remember being excited anytime we were in the Irving area and I could simply see the stadium.

I'm actually more sad about the HS playoff game memories. Played there 4 times in HS and went to countless playoff games over the years. Growing up in Plano in the 70's-early 90's, going to Texas STadium for playoff games was an annual tradition.

I hated to see it go. I understand why, it's just sad to see such a storied facility go that way.

agree 100%...Texas Stadium was perfect for High School football. You had great playing surface that was exposed to the elements...the way football is supposed to be played. Was affordable for teams and fans and was centrally located.
Perfect Saturday in the fall was getting some breakfast at McDonalds on 114, picking up a Dallas Morning News Sports Page, getting to Texas Stadium around 9am and staying there about 15 hours watching 4 straight High School Playoff games in about 50 degree weather...and of course some loaded nachos at some point in the day.

Gonna miss Texas Stadium!

The most amazing HS football game I've ever seen took place in Texas Stadium between John Tyler and Plano East.

Probably one of the most heartbreaking highlights to watch.
