I am hearing Bears for Thanksgiving, also seems like the Eagles are a primetime game every year but maybe not with McNabb gone. Edit: Now with the trade I would not be suprised if the 'Skins are the Thanksgiving game though.

pro football talk is reporting that NBC will get 18 games this year (was 17), meaning they will likely go head to head with the World Series.

good cause the world series and baseball suck and it'll be good for the NFL and embarrassing for baseball when a regular season NFL game beats the sheeet out of an MLB playoff game.

i wish the NBA and MLB were abolished and there was a 9 month NFL football season with a 3 month free agency/draft period.

when i become dictator this is the American sports format i plan on installing.

Week 17 will be all divisional matchups.

Sounds like an improvement

definitely better than any AFC vs. NFC matchups that have no impact on conference or division record tiebreakers. Also sets up the likelihood of more week 17-wildcard round rematches

there will be a total of 28 divisional games the last 23 weeks, compared to 15 last year.

Saints vs. Vikings in the season opener, no suprise there considering the the other options on the Saint's home schedule.

Unless I'm mistaken you can only have 5 primetime games per season. I don't know if they consider Thanksgiving primetime though, and that's usually been versus a spare ass team lately.

They would fire me if I did so

We had a meeting about it this morning and they are not messing around

The guy who gave me the schedule early last year got fired, so I could only manage to get a few games this year. The ones I listed are confirmed though.

I'll finally be interested in a Thanksgiving game.

The New York Giants are the latest team to have their schedule leaked in advance of the league's official announcement at 7 p.m. Eastern.

Mike Garafolo of the Star-Ledger got his hands on the Giants' schedule, and the biggest news is that the Carolina Panthers will be the first team to visit the Giants at their new stadium on the opening Sunday of the NFL season.

Week Two will feature a Manning vs. Manning Sunday night game, as Giants quarterback Eli Manning will visit older brother Peyton Manning in Indianapolis in prime time on NBC.

The rest of the schedule: Sept. 26, Tennessee; Oct. 3, Chicago; Oct. 10, at Houston; Oct. 17, Detroit; Oct. 25, at Dallas; Nov. 7, at Seattle; Nov. 14 Dallas; Nov. 21, at Philadelphia; Nov. 28, Jacksonville; Dec. 5, Washington; Dec. 12, at Minnesota; Dec. 19, Philadelphia; Dec. 26, at Green Bay; Jan. 2, at

Report: Cowboys to host Saints on Thanksgiving

Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on April 20, 2010 5:24 PM ET
Dallas finally has an opponent on Thanksgiving the rest of the country can get excited about.

The Cowboys will host the Saints this year on November 25, according to WDSU in New Orleans.  Dallas faced Seattle and Oakland on Thanksgiving the last two years.

The Cowboys handed the Saints their first loss last season in a game on NFL Network.

As Florio points out over IM -- while he's on the radio -- this news is a sign that the NFL has listened to criticism about their Thanksgiving schedule.  In the past, our theory was that a "captive audience" would give the league big numbers no matter what the matchup was.  So they stuck us with dogs.

WDSU also revealed the Saints will play nationally televised road games in San Francisco September 20and Atlanta on December 27.

The early Thanksgiving game will feature Detroit and New England.

Lions schedule leaked, too

Posted by Mike Florio on April 20, 2010 5:06 PM ET
One of the most awaited teams schedules -- the Steelers -- has been leaked.  And so the appropriate bookend would be one of the least awaited.

We give you the Lions 2010 schedule, from the Detroit News.

Sept. 12, at Chicago; Sept. 19, Philadelphia; Sept. 26, at Minnesota;  Oct. 3, at Green Bay; Oct. 10; St. Louis, Oct. 17, at N.Y. Giants; Oct. 31, Washington; Nov. 7, N.Y. Jets; Nov. 14, at Buffalo; Nov. 21, at Dallas; Nov. 25, New England; Dec. 5, Chicago; Dec. 12, Green Bay; Dec. 19, at Tampa Bay; Dec. 26, at Miami; Jan. 2, Minnesota.

Nothing earth shattering.
