I got hired out of school from both my undergrad and my grad school. I was too much of a nervous nellie to graduate without job offers.

It is my personal opinion, but I believe you have more bargaining power as a student than what you do as a student that has graduated and still does not have a job.

bahahaha. POLS and a job.

Sorry, but I've lived through that. My best advice is to think outside the box. POLS probably provided you with some good research, writing, and thinking skills. Hopefully you have some work experience. That said, I guess try the cities or some of the surrounding county governments. There are a lot of things you can do with a POLS degree, but you'll probably be poor doing most of them.

I graduated about 5yrs ago and started looking about a week before graduating. Now days it seems like students are interviewing and committing to employers 1 or 2 semesters before they graduate.

I started late my junior year, but didn't really begin in earnest until January of my senior year. A lot of people in my classes didn't start until December and January and wound up getting offers around Spring Break. Make sure you hit up career fairs, job websites, the Career Center, etc. I still get e-mails from some automated company websites saying they are looking for Jan. and June 2008 grads right now.
