My wife is a Fightin' Texas Aggie, Class of '91, and after 30+ years of teaching, she's ready for her next adventure! She's ready to get out of the classroom and start a new chapter. She's had a great career in education and has spent over 30 years building experience in communication, organization, leadership, training, problem solving, working with people, and pretty much handling anything that gets thrown her way. She is looking for a full-time position in the Houston, TX area and is open to different opportunities. The biggest challenge right now is figuring out what that next job should be. I know there are a lot of careers where her experience and skills would transfer, so I'm hoping to tap into the Aggie network and my own network for some ideas, leads, or connections.

I left teaching and now work for a university as a manager in a testing center.

My wife left teaching, and taught at a community college for a while (and loved it), and now is an admin for an environmental consulting firm.

In Houston, I'd look at:

- Houston Community College
- Primary Services (it's a temp company my sister and I used to successfully find admin type jobs in the past).
- Any of the community colleges/universities for coordinator/admin positions.

some of the best executive assistants I've worked with were former teachers. 30+ years in a classroom means she's tough, organized, and adaptable. if she's not interested in staying close to education, have her look into EA & office administrator roles.

What were the main subjects? If English & Writing you can have her look into marketing coordinator roles with Architectural & Engineering firms. They are located in all parts of Houston.

My firm hired 4 or 5 teachers during the COVID / post-COVID craziness and they've done a great job transitioning and seem to enjoy it. One told me trying to get content out of engineers is a lot like teaching 9th graders but there aren't any parents to deal with, so it's easy!
