Accounting Manager - Custom Home Builder
Job Summary
We need an organized, full-time, in-office Accounting Manager to run our financial tasks in Houston, TX. You will handle daily bills, monthly book checks, and bank money requests for our custom home projects. Your work keeps our building projects funded, our asset records exact, and our financial planning accurate.
Compensation & Job Type

• Salary Range: $100,000 to $120,000 per year
• Additional Compensation: Plus performance-based bonuses
• Job Type: Full-time
• Work Location: In-office, Houston, TX (no remote work)

Key Responsibilities

• Invoice Entry: Enter all vendor and supplier bills into the accounting system quickly and accurately.
• Accounts Payable: Manage money we owe to suppliers and pay all valid bills on time.
• Monthly Reconciliations: Compare our financial books against bank statements every month to make sure everything matches.
• Draw Requests: Create construction draw requests (money requests sent to banks or clients as building phases finish) for active home building jobs.
• Rebate Programs: Track, apply for, and collect manufacturer rebates (cash-back savings on building materials).
• Financial Reporting & Budgeting: Handle financial statements, budgeting, and forecasting to track project and company health.
• Fixed Assets Tracking: Manage fixed assets, including capitalization, depreciation, and asset tracking for company equipment and property.
• Data Analysis: Use strong analytical skills to interpret financial data, identify trends, and support strategic business decisions.
• Annual Reports: Prepare year-end financial reports and share them with company owners or tax preparers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
• 5 to 7 years of accounting experience (construction field preferred).
• Strong proficiency in Financial Statements and Finance, with hands-on experience in reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Demonstrated Analytical Skills for interpreting financial data and identifying trends.
• Solid knowledge of Fixed Assets management (capitalization, depreciation, and asset tracking).
• High-level knowledge of QuickBooks software.
• Strong organization skills to meet strict bank and payment deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using Adaptive software.
• Experience using AI tools in accounting data entry to streamline daily workflows.
