Reading this thread, this is me.

I've put everything I had into my current company the last 5 years. I got a new boss this year and it's not working. My old boss was great and was the only reason I stuck it out as long as I have. Now I am in a constant state of anxiety and get depressed on Sunday evenings.

I had a job interview last week, thought I nailed it, hiring supervisor responded positively to my thank you immediately……but now here I am a week later and no response.

Looks like it's back to the drawing board

Sometimes things just move slow. I got an offer from this company today. It's a little of a risky move but my current job is killing me.

Not sure if I mentioned this but I was stuck in my last job for almost six years. I was a route sales rep/delivery driver for a small company. We sold automotive fluids and cleaners. I was pretty burned out on everything when I finally got a new job in May of this year. All kinds of weather. All kinds of *******s on the road. Definitely some pretty bad customers. Nasty convenience stores. I don't miss a damn thing about it.

Update for me. I gave my resignation because working all day all night and overnight, only to be schedule weekend shifts and holiday shifts while still on training probation was a no for me. 2025 has been a gut punch career wise for me, but has allowed me to tend to my elderly mom who was very sick earlier in the year, and get to enjoy some time with my kids more with volunteering etc that I haven't gotten to do. I was really down on myself the week of Thanksgiving knowing that this time of year is slow hiring wise. I got called this past Monday for an interview with a utility company I've always wanted to be a part of as well as an interview for another remote position today. I was shocked to say the least. It isn't worth it and sometimes you just have to have faith and believe in yourself.

I think believing in yourself is the most underrated skill there is.

Good luck. I got canned mid November with a zero advance notice reduction in force, after relocating barely a year ago for this job. Worst career move I've ever made myself and I hope I can bounce back. The entire application and interview process in 2025 is super discouraging. I've only been at it for a bit but could easily see where depression sets in and spirals.

It especially sucks when your boss is a Summer's Eve to work for.

Update for me. 2nd round interview call today and also got hit up on LinkedIn about a job I applied to from the VP to set up an interview, right after that. Biggest shock to me is that people are hiring right now with the holidays. I knew leaving was the right decision but this just solidifies it. Fingers crossed the right opportunity hits

I was laid off in 2020, everybody was laying people off and you couldn't go anywhere. I managed to find a job, it will happen. People who give a damn are in short supply.

Amen to that, especially if it is real confidence and not just conceitedness.

I also think that competent people often sell themselves woefully short. Someone who is on time, respectful, attentive and teachable is already 80% ahead of the game....yet they probably think they have very little to offer.

I've hired lots of people and even absent technical skills, just those few things make a great teammate.
