How long do you want to ignore this user?
Hello,

Class of '07 here,

I was just recently let go from my federal job due to the reduction in federal force Executive Order.
With that said, I am a highly organized and disciplined project manager/engineer with 8+ years of experience leading and managing teams of Project Managers and Engineers by successfully making decisions that have financial, and customer satisfaction impact. Additionally, proficient Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) leading teams of Soldiers/Engineers in delivering highly detailed geospatial products that support military missions.

I have a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M - College Station, TX. I am also currently working on my Master's degree in engineering management from Penn State University.

In my professional career I have held top management positions in production facilities that build industrial electrical products. I also held the role of key user for integration of engineering software and production software (Engineering Base with SAP), and Project Manager roles. In the electrical engineering side, I am experienced in designing explosion proof electrical equipment, and industrial size uninterruptable power supplies. All these positions have been organic to the job I was performing.

In the Army, I work with Geographic Information Systems and produce maps for various missions, as well as managing the production of these maps.

In my last position not related to the government, I was an application engineer and key user in integrating the migration of Engineering Base design software into SAP. My main focus was operations and data management of the engineering design tools, as well as creating standardize models of our products.

As of now, I am currently serving a deployment in the middle east (yes, I received the news while deployed).
I have an estimated return date of May.

My resume is available, if requested. My email is my username minus the "06" at gmail.
I appreciate any help or leads.

Former TXARNG guy here. I don't believe it's legal to lay you off while you're on Active Duty orders.

Now if the company went out of business or something, that's a different story.

Have you spoken to your unit's legal team?
The National Guard has lawyers who salivate over the opportunity to go after employers for this kind of stuff.

Now, let's say you're still looking for a new job anyway, are you tied to a geographical location?

Interesting situation. It is the government, not a private business, so would the law not effect the lay off? Was his agency completely gotten rid of or just his position? I am all for making the government more efficient, but hate to hear a guy serving and currently deployed was laid off. Did you get the 8 month severance that is being reported?

Hello,

I will go talk to JAG today and see what they tell me.

I am not tied to a geographical location as of now.
But my preference would be Houston or Dallas.

Check out the careers page at www.hdrinc.com. Our Power and Building Engineering Services groups are growing substantially. We also have a veteran "Hiring our Heroes" program where our recruiters will try to help you match up with a position and hiring manager.

Also, feel free to send me your resume. Email is in profile, and I'll forward it to the two regional managers who hire the most EEs. The groups you'd be in would most likely be in Dallas, Round Rock, or San Antonio. We're employee owned.
