The Software Quality Automation Manager will lead the testing automation strategy to enhance product resilience, performance, security, and to validate new features. The role will engage various stakeholders (developers, product owners, operations, and senior management) to design, prioritize, and execute software testing plans using manual and automated testing processes. The candidate must have strong proficiency with modern testing automation platforms targeting web, mobile, API, and desktop applications. The Software Quality Automation Manager will serve as the primary contributor to the creation of QA procedures, processes, and documentation for the team. They will also help to define and to report metrics, KPIs, and assist in shaping the strategic direction of the QA function.
Duties/Responsibilities:Required Skills/Abilities:
- Responsible for managing tactical QA project work such as test planning, test cycles, metrics, and test execution
- Define the entrance and exit requirements for all testing phases
- Development/Unit, System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), Performance/Load Testing, and Post-Production Testing
- Integrate automated test platforms into the development, build, and release workflows
- Provide coaching and leadership in QA best practices, standards, and methodologies to enable continuous improvement of our engineering capabilities
- Develop and maintain a library of test cases and other test artifacts like test data, data validation, test harness scripts, and automated tests
- Report on the status of testing development, quality, and system performance to management
Education and Experience:
- Expertise in industry-leading test and performance measurement tools such as Selenium, Load Runner, and robotic process automation (RPA) platforms such as UiPath
- Demonstrated ability to report progress to senior management using KPI metrics and risk measurements
- Experience leading QA software teams in a distributed development environment
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with developers, product owners, operations, and senior leadership to provide quality measurements and detailed risk analysis
- Experience in REST service interaction and performance/load testing
- Experience with Agile software development
Physical Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, or a related discipline
- Minimum 8 years experience designing automated software testing for web, desktop, and mobile platforms
- 5+ years in leading and managing software QA engineering teams
- Experience providing senior-level technical guidance
- Demonstrated track record leading geographically dispersed teams
- This is a full-time position with standard daytime working hours
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Ability and accessibility to work remotely or in the office as required
