Business Development/ Account Manager

Pavecon has become one of the leaders in new construction, and undisputed leaders for repairing existing asphalt and concrete paving delivering a unique value proposition to the industry. Pavecon currently maintains properties for some of the largest real estate holders in the USA. We currently operate out of 8 divisional offices in Texas, Mississippi, Alabama, and Arkansas.

The company is profitable and growing. Currently, we are looking for a Business Development/Account Manager to join the Houston team. The role is primarily focused on developing lasting relationships with new and existing clients. The emphasis for this role is on Sales Development, Account Maintenance, Project Management, and Customer Service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • This is a Hunter type sales role. You will be expected to develop new business.
  • Responsible for cold calling, prospect qualification, strategic sales process planning, sales presentations, project management, and closing all revenue opportunities.
  • Must feel comfortable presenting repair solutions and application concepts directly with customers and will be expected to answer a wide range of questions regarding the various services offered.
  • Initiates job creation through client contact, prepares estimates, facilitates schedule requests within production team.
  • Completes and communicates project status externally with client and internally with executive and production teams. This includes electronic documentation.
  • Collaborates with peers and internal team members on schedule management and provides training on client standards.
  • Regularly report on key accomplishments and monitor key metrics to identify areas for improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Candidates will have a four-year college degree or relevant experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of sales experience.
  • Construction knowledge and estimating experience a plus, but not required.
  • Position requires handling multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring seamless execution through stellar organizational and time management skills.
  • Candidate should demonstrate planning skills and the ability to prioritize using information around due dates, clients, internal resource skill sets and when to escalate for assistance and awareness.
  • Position requires a person with strong attention to details with exceptional problem-solving skills dedicated to ensuring processes meet their requirements and provide adjustments when necessary.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a dynamic team structure.
  • Intermediate to advanced skill in Microsoft Office software programs, specifically, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Role will require CRM usage.
  • Basic math skills and ability to read, write, and speak English is required.

  • Ability to sit for long periods of time, in vehicle and in office.
  • Ability to stand at or walk job sites for up to a full workday as needed.
  • Must be able to see and hear in order to gather and input information; respond to face-to-face and telephone inquiries.
  • Must be able to drive and have a valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift, push, pull, and carry materials
  • Travel requirements as needed.

Sorry for the late reply. You guys are correct, this is a role where selling work to new and existing customers is primary. There are some elements to the job in regards to estimating, managing schedules/ logistics/ financials, and occasionally acting as an on-site superintendent that may have led to the PM title. I posted the job description because it isn't a traditional PM role. Didn't want any confusion. Sorry if there was some. We do wear a lot of hats, but ultimately we are responsible for business development/ sales. I can answer any additional questions, if needed.
