You must be new here.
about as unbelievable as them allowing you to come over the top and crap on everyone's post that had/has good comments to say. Look, we get it...you didn't have a good experience and from following all your posts, he has offered to try and make this right. Are you going to make it your life's work to destroy this dude's business or what? Surely your time would be spent better elsewhere?MookieBlaylock said:
Yay another Shelley sock/schill
Unbelievable staff allows this crap

I saw tons of recommendations for James on here. So I reached out and he helped me out and I'm very happy with the work. Thought I'd bring it here to post a positive experience like the many others I had seen.

How do you work in the real world considering there are many "non-Ags" out there?tomtomdrumdrum said:
Hopefully via a sponsor link someday so he can pay for all of the advertising he does here.
Wondered how long it would be before another thread titled with the guy's name would grace this board after the last was locked. Yes let's all continue promoting this non-Ag's "services" that Ags could otherwise get for free with the career center.

Certainly entitled to your opinion but I would offer that you get what you pay for and generally collegiate career resources centers are geared toward helping students, new grads, and early-stage folk not mid-to-senior level professionals that have an established network in a specific industry.tomtomdrumdrum said:
This forum is for helping and networking, not for selling something that people here or at the career center would otherwise offer for free. I'd provide links to his posts which were straight up unpaid ads, but I can't cause staff deleted them.
I haven't had a personal issue with him that caused me to speak up. I just don't like the predatory behavior I've seen here - trying to make a buck off of people asking for help.
Charging someone for a service and helping someone are not mutually exclusive things.tomtomdrumdrum said:

This is a great point. They deal mostly with this kind of person so their experience would be limited in the mid to senior level professionals.Astroag said:Certainly entitled to your opinion but I would offer that you get what you pay for and generally collegiate career resources centers are geared toward helping students, new grads, and early-stage folk not mid-to-senior level professionals that have an established network in a specific industry.tomtomdrumdrum said:

I'm 40 years old. I have been around the block enough times to know what I will be getting with 'free' stuff. An instrument for securing gainful employment is not where I want 'free' services. I was placed at a PROFESSIONAL CAREER TRANSITION firm when I was laid off. They did resume re-writes, courses, mock interviews, EVERYTHING. It paled in comparison to James Shelley's work on my resume. They did poor work because they have turnover with people 'doing their job'. This is more of an art form and I feel like you need a specialized person to do that. I wouldn't take my car to jiffy lube for an engine rebuild. Don't jiffy lube your resume.tomtomdrumdrum said:

If you're going to be a dick and go around correcting other people's posts, it'd be best to make sure yours is airtight before you click "Post". Otherwise, you come across as a person who claims to be a technical writer but is severely lacking in the proofreading department.
