After relocating from Houston to DFW and being 6 months at my new job, I've learned that a lot of what was pitched to me during my interviews was BS. On top of that, I have a supervisor who micromanages, doesn't trust employees, and refuses to consider some our solutions to problems facing my team - some of these solutions would cost the company $0.00.
Between the time I interviewed in September 2017, and now, 8 employees have left my team - either transferring to other depts. or leaving the company. My coworker who was hired at the same time as I was hired has also expressed his regrets with leaving his old job for this one.
Also, my new company pays below market rates for salaries across the board. If I were to leave before my one year mark, I have to pay 100% of my relocation bonus (50% after 1 year), roughly 10K after taxes. I decided that it's not worth it to stick around, and I'll refund the money if I have to. I already updated my resume.
Has anyone faced a similar situation? Trying to suck it up as much as possible, but as others have said around here, it isn't sustainable. I'm concerned employers may have an issue with me applying for a job after not being here too long.
