Technically its 4-5 interviews, but I still have to make a good impression on the other 2-3 that aren't formal interviews.

Yeah, my day consists of the following:

Breakfast/talk with the hiring manager.

Interview with the lab manager and an analytical specialist

Interview with Refining & Gas Processing Director

Lunch with Exploration & Production fellow and Sr research scientist

Meeting with HR

Lab tour with research technician and specialist

Interview with Sr Technical Services and Development Specialist

Hiring manager called me last night to do breakfast/coffee offsite before the marathon. Meeting her in an hour. Wish me luck and I'll update tonight.

LONG day, but I felt it went pretty well. The role is a good fit and I only feel that I was stumped by one of the directors. His interview style was to dead-pan the question and look at me with a blank stare during the entire interview. It was very difficult to read his reactions. All in all I think things went pretty well, but was told by HR to expect it to take 2-3 weeks to decide, and a further 3 weeks after I've accepted an offer (if they make one) to start.

Must have done something right. Hiring manager called me up the next day after my onsite interview. She didn't offer me the position outright, but said they would be wrapping up everything in the next day or two and they would be in touch with me by the middle of next week.

That's a lot better than the 3 week waiting period that HR said. We'll see.

Hiring manager called me on the way home from work today and gave me a verbal offer for the position. She didn't disclose the details of the offer, but said I would have an email Monday morning that contained all of that information.

Congrats on the offer! Do you know if you'll be in TS&D, R&D, tech center, or analytical services? Sounds like you talked with all of them.

Pretty much all of them. The role is being called "global chemist". I'll be responsible for improving methods, speeding up processes, training, bringing new equipment online, and also tie instrumentation into LIMS as able. This will start at the freeport site, then expand to the other labs in the region, and then eventually to the labs around the globe.
