How long do you want to ignore this user?
Been out for 2.5 years and just wanted to freshen my resume up. Please help me with some questions:

1. Presently I have Education listed first on my resume, followed by my professional experience, followed by some continuing education conference I have attended. Should Education remain at the top of those three or should it move down the list as I know have 2.5 years experience.

2. Should I still list Organizations under Education that I was a part of at A&M. I have room to keep them and have it at one page, but not sure it it's of much interest except a "conversation piece"

Thanks.

Move your education to the bottom if it is not in Finance, Engineering, or some business related field. Besides these fields all others are pretty useless to take up prime resume space at the top. Honestly no one cares what extra curricular activities you did at A&M after being out for 2.5 yrs, thats the truth. Highlight your work experience by taking out key skills and putting them in a list or chart of some type above your work experience. When hiring managers are going through 100's of resumes per day, you have about 10 seconds to catch their attn. otherwise no dice. Dont make them search for what you want to show them, just show it to them.

Thanks for the help.

Well I'm an Econ major but I work as a Financial Analyst for an O&G company. The thing is my organizations highlight my roles with Financial responsibilitiess, which is why they were on my resume when I was applying for financial positions. I suppose that I am now in that field, those can be removed?

Stupid question, but I suppose my study abroad can be removed as well?

Again, thanks for the help.

Your study abroad can be removed, but I would consider leaving it if you were working with a known company and moving into your work experience at the bottom.

Do you think your organizations helped you get an interview more than your Econ degree? I ask because banking and financial institutions seem to make up the majority of employers open to Econ undergrads on job websites, but it it seems that they really want Finance and Accounting undergrads instead.
