Howdy Ags,

Trying to help a friend of mine find an internship for the summer in either College Station or Houston. He is finishing his sophomore year and has around a 3.0 for his basics. He is majoring in International Commerce at A&M.

My experience in the past is the sooner you find an internship to put on your resume that doesn't include waiting tables the better. Especially in today's market. I would rather not steer him towards any door-to-door sales jobs so any suggestions would be appreciated.

He should have jumped on the career center earlier this year... he may still have hope if he tries now... even though it is late.

Tell him not to be afraid of taking a lower paying, less prestigious internship (obviously doing meaningful productive work). It will pay big dividends when he tries to get an internship next year.
