I have to take 16 hours of science a CS degree.

I've already taken the two physics.

Do you think chemistry, biology, biology/zoology/botany, geology, or geology/atmo/renr(??).

I'm pretty good at math, but I can also memorize tons of information.

Which set of sciences do you think are the easiest?

I took geology and zoology.

geology- Very easy, but that stuff actually interested me. Identifying the rocks in the lab was hard at times, but not too hard. Other than that you learn about evolution and crap like that.

zoology- More difficult than geology for me though I still found most of the info interesting. As you stated you are good at memorizing, this class might be the way to go. For each test you must know the "kingdom,phylum,class,order,family.......etc" for multiple animals along with the basic info. Tons of information, none that took any thinking if you had everything about every animal group down. You do basic genetics, but it was kind of a high school biology review. I found the hardest part were the lab exams where you had to look at random things under the microscope and identify what it was.

btw: I would stay away from chem, and though I never took it, I would think biology would be easier than zoology.

CHEM 227/228. No studying required at all!

Really, just take what you are most interested in. Most will require you to put adequate time/effort into them, but none are insurmountable in the least.

CHEM 106 with Dr. Hogg if he is still around. This is by far the easiest science I have taken here. Check it out.

geology is easy if you know how to memorize stuff, i took geology and oceanography. if you can get vastano for oceanography take it, he's pretty cool

Chem 101/102 aren't that bad (I rather liked them) and its 8 more hours.

ATMO 201 is not hard at all.

chem 106 with dr. hogg is called cowboy chemistry for a reason. it's actually easier than the chemistry you learned in high school. hardly any math is involved. geared towards learning about chemistry in the community - ozone, acid rain, greenhouse effect, etc. lots of education and business people take this class, and there are a ton of pretty girls too

ATMO 201 is easy. Mostly memorization of facts. Our final exam in there was a carbon copy of the study guide.

Hort 201 isn't too bad and when taken with the lab, can count as a science

Thanks for the replies, I'll probably be doing 101/102 because of my schedule. 106 sounds interesting, but I can't take that course.

HORT 201 for sure. Have to study a little bit but the class is pretty entertaining for a science course

I can't believe y'all aren't saying the obvious one. Honors Oceanography 251. I have literally done nothing the whole semester.

Geology was easy and very interesting. I really enjoyed it.

i didnt like general chem, loved biochem, but if science comes easy to you, take chem 101. i wouldnt solely because the lab is boring. wouldnt take biology either, lab involves lots of memorization and understanding of what your memorizing. zoology was probably the easiest - blind memorization, and the lab isnt dull. i also hear geology is an easy one.

I took GEOL 101 and OCNG 251 honors.
Geology wasn't bad. Boring, and the tests weren't that easy, but I barely pulled an A.
Oceanography with Vastano is almost a joke. He's a great guy and a lot of fun but he was a terrible teacher that semester. We all did fairly poorly on the tests and he blamed us for not studying or whatever. He still did whatever he could to get the students to an A, and I squeaked by again.

If you're good at math, take the chem courses, gen chem is just solving math word problems with the exception of quantum rules, which is plenty basic in gen chem for a CS major.

ATMO 201 is amazingly easy. It is always taught by the same guy, Marion Alcorn at 8am MWF, but I dont think I went any other days other than the first day and test days and still got an A. Just keep up in the book and you're good to go. Also OCNG 401 is ridiculously easy, and you dont have to go often either. The tests are open book, and the prof, Bob Stewart is a real good guy.

Go with oceanography.

cake.

that is all.

Hort wasn't bad.. the lab was easy and more laid back.. Geology, we had to memorize a lot more than I remember having to in Hort.
