other hard class although material wasn't necessarily hard was math 142. thanks A&M for hiring chinese speaking only math teachers...

ANTH 301, average grade in that class was a D, I got out of it with a B, but I started studying 2 weeks before the test because there was so much information.

Humorous Username- Are you taking Hollerman? I took his derivatives class in undergrad (cross listed with grad school) even though over half the students were grad students. He teaches hard classes but you learn a bunch.

Econometrics

I am taking it with Hollermann. The class is definitely hard, but I will agree that I have learned (and I am still learning) a lot. What's making it so tough is the amount of work that needs to be done in a five week period for the class.

Homework 1 requiring ~10 Hours of work- Due the second Wednesday of Summer School.

Homework 2 requiring ~20-25 Hours of work- Due the Monday after that.

Homework 3 requiring ~15 Hours of work- Due that Friday after Homework 2.

Homework 4 requiring ~15-20 Hours of work- Due the next Friday (yesterday).

Exam and Final Project Presentation Slides due this Wednesday, and an ~20 Page Report due July 3rd.

What makes it worthwhile is that his curve is supposedly at least 50% A's.

All of this while working 40-45 hours a week has been tough. I'll be glad when it's over, and probably look back on it as a class that will really help me wherever I end up.

Econ 410. I had some dumbass grad student that could barely speak English, and gave us a 5 question take home final. My group started it around 7pm one night, and finished #3 aroudn 4am.

Oh, econometrics was easy.

CVEN 345 - Theory of Structures
MEEN 363 - Dynamics and Vibrations (now cven 363)

I hate structures and these classes are as bad as it gets.

ELEN 322 Fundamentals of Electromagnetics - Steve Wright

The prof being the guy he is made it hard, but he curved a lot AFTER 30% of the students dropped the class.

Erm ... ENGR 221 was hard, but only because I hated the class and because the prof was Charles Glover, a royal asshat, who happened to write the book, but couldnt solve the problems in it. Being an EE, I didnt care and it showed, because I didnt learn a lick and therefore had a hard time.

It still wasnt even in the same league of conceptual difficulty as 322.

I actually have to say that for credit and time wise, the worst classes are ENGR 111 and 112, at least as they existed from 1998-2002 or so. Now that the departments have taken back their freshmen programs, as they had before that period, things are appearantly improving. However, during that time there was no class that required more work for fewer credits, even the dreaded ELEN 326, which is notorious for *****work.

327 is tough, but some people make that class out to be way harder than it is. The hardest class I have taken was actually a class through Blinn. It was art history online. Talk about a ton of writing. I wrote at least 25 essays for that 10 week class and on top of that had to write a research paper on Imhotep.

PHYS 222 (Modern Physics) was a pain in the ass. I always catch hell from my friends for choosing that as my science elective instead of astronomy.

History of the Middle ages with Kystolnik. During the first test, a student stood up and threw the test in the trash can on the way out.

History of the American Military after 1901. Prof lectured without notes and it didn't match the test, ever.

You're an AERO and didn't take Astronomy. It's seriously one of the easiest classes I've taken here. I'm taking it during the current summer term and will easily get my A. As an added bonus, there is a decent amount of attractive girls in the class. Very much in contrast to every other PHYS class I have taken.

Yeah, I was retarded. I got an A, but it was a royal pain. It wasn't that I did well in the class, it was just that everyone else did really really badly.

Runner-ups for hardest class so far include AERO 310 and AERO 301 (only because of the prof that semester though).

You must have had a tough stat prof. I got an easy A in mine.

Be prepared to enter a whole new dimension of pissed off when you get out of AGEC 317 every day. It's definitely in my top 5 for hardest classes, even if you're prof speaks English.

The people who teach it have a lot to do with its difficulty.

CPSC 321 was tough cause of the projects. The exams were a breeze but implementing a pipelined processor in 2 weeks was a *****.

PHYS 304 & 305: Advanced Electromagnetism. The theory-heavy follow up classes for PHYS 208. Oh yeah, Dr. Saslow teaching them. They were tough classes with tough subjects and taught by a tough professor but when you finish the class, you know that you could at least fumble yourself through any E&M problem that is thrown your way even if you have never seen it.

Of course, you have to be like the normal physicist and imagine everything as a sphere, cylinder or plane.

I thought some of the upper level spanish classes I took were pretty hard
