Howdy everyone! I am currently applying for the PPA program and was wondering if anyone had any ideas about my potential acceptance. For reference here are my stats.

CC GPA (2yrs during HS) : 3.95
TAMU GPA : 3.18
C in 229, B in 230, B (88%) in 327,
Finance chair of a professional organization
member of a current social org.
part time job as a Shift Lead & Trainer at work.

Currently doing much better in my classes than the past 2 years at A&M as i was diagnosed with adhd. I mentioned this to the interview as well and the interview seemed like it went well. I currently have 3 A's and 1 B in my classes and i am expecting a 4.0 this semester if everything goes according to plan. Was wondering if anyone had any thoughts!

here is a good thread from earlier this year that might be of interest:

I've looked into other options beyond PPA, but I really am interested in getting into the program. I know that my GPA (as well as my C in 229) doesn't look great on my application; however, I have been interested in the program for a while now. I wanted to ask to see if anyone thinks that it would still be possible for me to get into PPA even though my gpa is not very good.

Set yourself up an informational with one of the PPA program advisors. Casey Kyllonen comes to mind, if she is still there. Do your research, bring questions, show an interest and communicate why this matters to you and that you've turned around your grades.

Give it your best shot and have no regrets whatever the outcome.

And worth repeating from the other thread... I did not apply for PPA and the reason I didn't is because there are many other paths outside of PPA for people with technical business degrees (the fact I was horrible in ACCT 327 didn't help :-) ).
An undergrad degree in accounting can still do wonders for you if you're willing to think and explore beyond public accounting careers (many just as lucrative, if not more).

I appreciate the kind words! I had my interview last week and talked about my struggles with my ADD early on in college. I also mentioned how much I have loved accounting, how much the school as a whole has done for me, and what I would like to give back to the program. I believe the interview went well! I just wish that my stats were a lot better, since a lot of the people I know who are currently in PPA have gpa's of 3.6+, and mine is severely lacking, but there's nothing I can do now but hope that they take a chance on me!

If you have a good personality and pass the CPA exam, no one will care.

If you are potentially interested in other masters programs, you should look at MSF. I believe this is the top program in Mays.
