Just applied for transfer and the UIN doesn't have a letter

Kid applied Sunday and got an UIN email Tuesday, but he can't activate it because there is no letter in it. Is this a mistake?

Not sure if I'm misunderstanding you, but there shouldn't be a letter in the UIN. Just 9 digits.

He was supposed to use the UIN number to activate the Net ID. It said he needed a letter in front of the digits. He called in and it got fixed. Thank you for your assistance.
