Howdy Folks

My son will be attending Engineering Honors program in the fall (as a freshman). We are researching laptops for him. I know you cannot endorse a specific brand, but my question is:

Will he be doing any AutoCAD applications during his time at Texas A&M?

Should we go ahead and purchase a laptop that can handle AutoCAD to future-proof his laptop needs?

Thank you very much for any information you can provide....We have the basic engineering laptop requirements, just wondering if AutoCAD is something we should go ahead and plan for.

No clue I was barely a business student.
If I remember correctly there were plenty of computer labs students could use & I believe they could run autocad.

its probably fusion 360, not autocad.

It doesn't need to be a supercomputer, undergrad cad classes aren't going to be doing very complex things.

My twin sons will be senior engineers. I bought them mid-level Dell laptops (Precision 7550) going into their freshman year and they still use them.
