Hi - I live in Colorado and really want to attend A&M, but can't afford the out of state tuition.
What are some ways to get in-state tuition?
What is the best way to get advice on this?
Can you go to Blinn for a year and then transfer as an in-state student?
Help!

Thank you for the advice!

Two departments provide details at https://registrar.tamu.edu/Catalogs,-Policies-Procedures/State-Policies/Residency and and https://scholarships.tamu.edu/Non-Resident-Tuition-Waiver.

Even better.

Join the Texas National Guard (Army or Airforce) and they will pay your tuition at any state run school in Texas. You also learn a skill and drill part time.

Or work for Starbucks. It wont help with A&M but they will pay for a degree at Arizona State.

Starbucks educational assistance is the best thing no one knows about. Starbucks will pay for any of the following undergraduate degrees: https://asuonline.asu.edu/online-degree-programs/

I just went through the process of acquiring in-state residency for tuition. I'd be happy to help you by answering any questions regarding my experience! It's extremely worth it!!

I did time at blinn and transfered in after a year or so.

Two pieces of advice.

Investigate the pell grant, and do NOT throw away your 1098 T's that you get after paying tuition. File those with your taxes, if the amount is significant enough.
