I'm pretty sure he's still here, and I think I may have taken his wife's class for 208. (her name is Olga). She had the same type of 'prototype' problems that were really helpful.

One of my buddies said that they weren't husband and wife, which I didn't believe. But yes, the prototype questions were awesome. He was a nice guy too.

You know, Bassichis gets a lot of hate but I think that his material (Don't Panic when I took 218 and 208) is superior to others'. If the subject interests you and you don't want to take him I would try to find another professor using his book (I had Wu for 218 and Bassichis himself for 208). Personally, I think that the derivations and stuff you find in there is a better way of learning physics than the solve-for-a-number approach that I remember hearing about from others.

My son had Tatiana Erukhimova for both 218 and 208 and used the Don't Panic texts. He liked her and the text both and did very well.

Don't Panic is usually not offered spring semester for 218 and I think that is what OP needed the info for

I had Tatiana as well. She was probably the best of the don't panic teachers. She has a very thick accent. I also think I had an 89.3 and she gave me an A so that was pretty cool of her.

I had Igor Lyuksyutov in 1996. Does he still teach?

He did as of 2006.

EDIT: Just checked the website, he's still there but doesn't do 218 anymore.
