How long do you want to ignore this user?
Ags,

Reaching out to this forum for some guidance to try and help a good kid and hopefully future Aggie. A friend of our daughter is a senior in High School in Waco, she has applied to A&M and has all the scores necessary to get in. Her dad actually played football for the ags in the early 1970's and she has wanted to go to A&M much of her life. Unfortunately her dad recently lost his battle with cancer and it has thrown the family for a loop. During this time the school counselor also failed to get her school transcripts in on time and due to this error she will not be accepted into this fall's freshman class. We want to help but don't really know what to do or what would be the best way to try and help. I know there are many ags on here that are much more familiar with school admissions/legacy than I am and may have some contacts or advice for how we can help. Any advice would be appreciated.

I had a similar problem (although it was my fault, not someone who was paid to take care of that like a school counselor). I ended up heading to college station anyways, going to Blinn for my first two semesters. I made really good grades at Blinn and ended up getting some good scholarships. I would suggest that they do this, and if they do well enough at Blinn and are on top of scholarship applications then it could possibly work for the better.

Sounds like transfer admissions may be the recommended option at this time. Does she know what she wants to major in?

If it's just her transcript and it was the schools error she may me able to appeal. Talk to admissions.
