Howdy!

So for spring 12 I took KINE 199 as a pass/fail; this fall 12 semester I took it for a grade, made an easy A.

Was wondering, coud I retake another KINE 199 for spring and make an A for an easy 1hr credit boost?

I was reading on the TAMU grading policies, and stumbled upon this.
***10.21 A student repeating a course in which a grade of B or better has been earned will not receive grade points for the repeated course, unless the catalog states the course may be repeated for credit.***

Does that mean, retaking KINE 199 and making another A will not count towards my GPA?

Thanks guys!

Although KINE 199 could be taken more than once, the big question will be if you get an A in this 1 credit hour course, is it going to significantly impact your Overall GPR? If not, is it still a course/activity you would still want to take in the Spring?

It might not be a bad idea to also talk to your academic advisor to verify if this would be the best option to achieve your goal of raising your GPR.

Thanks for the reply BusAg!

I was just wondering because, some of the KINE 199 classes sound interesting, learning a new sport sounds like fun with the added bonus of adding a small boost to the GPR.

You're right though, it would slightly change it but not by much.

I'm still registered for one, so I'll wait until I go back to A&M for spring and ask my advisor once the registration opens.

If you're looking for a GPA boost find a 3 hour elective course to take that is easy.

If you're looking to learn a new sport or are looking for organized activity then KINE 199 would probably be a good option for that.

If you do this too often though you probably won't get the graduation rebate for taking really only the classes you need. Just a heads up, that may not matter to you.

Not sure if you get credit but taking a 199 is a great way to ensure you get some physical activity each week and lean something new.

I'm class of 08 but I took a kine199 every semester. Archery, snow ski, hand ball, racquetball, and weights I can remember

You can take KINE 199 as much as you want. However I'd suggest just doing it for fun and doing P/F just in case you realize you aren't good at Fencing or something. They should be fun classes. I took Scuba diving, it was a blast and I got certified.
