Quest Diagnostics has not. It's a bit alarming to me when a business dedicated to health cannot figure out your gender after you select your sex. Yikes.

It has been explained to me that Sex is biological and gender is cultural. It's the best explanation I have found to help it make sense. Either way, I don't think it's needed any more than my boot size in this instance.

Great, why don't you just ask me if I feel like a male, female, or other

Maybe, The gender question should be part of the mental illness exam.

The whole thing is dumb but it is pretty easy to see what they are going for. Sex-biological gender-social. I don't agree with it but just fill out the stupid form, get your blood drawn and carry on with your life.
I can't imagine getting worked up about a question on a lab registration form.

A certain portion Question Diagnostics' customer base is delusional and demands validation of their delusion from everyone with whom they interact. This delusional component of their customer base are also frequent repeat customers for monitoring hormone levels and the myriad of other physiological conditions that are consequent to hormone treatments they take to support their delusion. Quest has decided to make them happy given that they will be seeing a lot of each other and generating steady revenue from their delusional mental illness. They also want to avoid roid-rage incidents in their lobby waiting areas and to avoid their customers being emotionally agitated around needles.
In other news, Bruce Jenner has decided to resume living as a man because he has weighed the health consequences of continuing the clinical support for his female delusion.

Any chance "sex" is the gender you want to have sex with, meaning, as a heterosexual male you should actually put female in that section?
