Have you all noticed these leftists "rankings" that have been prolific of late that try and show how awful Texas is?

I've seen so many rankings with Texas at the bottom, quality of life, healthcare, schools, even taxes.

If Texas is so awful then why is the population growing so fast and we lead the nation by far in corporate relocations?

Of course low information people fall for it hook line and sinker.

Have not noticed any uptick in that.

But yes, turning Texas blue is key for them.

We've discussed before but the most notable one is the CNBC Best State to do Business. Texas got #4 in the country which is really good but for Quality of Life (which is where far left wing ideology is considered) they got 49 out of 50. And QoL is 11.6% of the total methodology which was enough to keep them from being 1 or 2.

Their joke of a QoL category:

Quote:

We rate the states on livability factors like per capita crime rates, environmental quality, and healthcare. With studies showing that childcare is one of the main obstacles to employees entering or re-entering the workforce, we consider the availability and affordability of qualified facilities. We look at worker protections, including livable wage policies, paid leave, and rights to organize. We look at inclusiveness in state laws, including protections against discrimination of all kinds, as well as voting rights and secure election systems. And with surveys showing a sizeable percentage of younger workers would not live in a state that bans abortion, we factor reproductive rights in this category as well.

So, not being forced to pay union dues, known economic failed policy of livable wages, and not having the ability to abort your kids counts as positive Quality of Life. No one is getting discriminated against in the top corporate state in the country and everyone has equal access to voting here.

lol at all of this.

Pretty much.

I've always said Texas is the best state for liberals, and with Abbott at the helm, there's really no need to change that. Ever.

Maybe if Cornyn wasn't such a ***** people wouldn't be so butthurt over Paxton. Paxton better on policy and for Texas.

Not sure who they is. Paxton filed to run, and he beat the establishment candidate. I guess your beef is with the voters of Texas.

After decades of crap sandwiches, it this was the right time to go all-in. If Paxton wins, it finally proves that Republicans in Texas can win without the Bush wing RINOs. Especially since they've been claiming he's such a terrible candidate. It's a calculated gamble that was worth the risk according to Texas Republican voters.

If Texas turns blue, we're either seceding and taking out the blue cities
or
we're taking out a large portion of Mexico and making it Texico.

"Access to voting" to means failure to have system that operates on mass mail out ballots with zero controls once they get out into the wild and automatic registration of illegals to vote when they get their drivers license and zero ID checks or any other accountability that might prevent Dem cheating

If Talarico wins, the talk will be Texas has turned blue and TX dems will think they have prevailed. The truth will be more complicated. Talarico is facing a terrible candidate in Paxton and elections are still about candidates. I can easily see a scenario where Talarico wins, then TX votes red by 10plus points in 2028 and vote Talarico out in 2032.

Paxton was politically attacked because he went after Obama, Biden, and wanted to sue other states, PA and GA for the fraud election in the 2020 election.

RINOS and liberal whites will turn the state blue.

It's been their wet dream for a quarter century + and they have repeatedly thrown gobs of national and international money at it. Hope this isn't the election where they actually achieve it in a statewide election. I'm not sure how that's gonna go.

Access is a bull****, socialist metric. Texas has one of the best healthcare systems in the country. World class cancer research and treatment. Arguably best on planet. World class sports medicine. Just off top of my head.

We fly back to Texas for healthcare because there is no way in hell we are going to do it in NM who is laughably ranked above Texas in healthcare metics.

It's just absurd that Texas gets ranked so low.

Access may be about how many areas lack decent facilities. We have top tier facilities, but they are concentrated in the large metroplexes. If you are out in East Texas it's a long stretch to Tyler or Dallas to get to a decent hospital. I'd imagine West Texas faces similar hurdles, because our state is just so big.

That's pretty much every state though. TN is 50 and only has 7m people in whole state. So they are getting dinged because of geography?

It's what I said - far left wing ideology is pushing them that low. It's not geography. Therefore, it's a bogus category.

Being able to have abortions and forced unionization are not remotely Quality of Life issues.

Geography is part of the equation, as it impacts how many folks live in "healthcare deserts," but there is also the issue of rates of uninsured and underinsured, as those folks can't access the top tier care even if they live in one of the large cities.

TN may be impacted by poverty in Appalachia, and how that impacts their access to health insurance.
