read about this almost 20 years ago. They experimented with 4 legged animals. Main focus was military (think of an army of mind controlled rodents) , but since that application is now pretty much obsolete, i guess its okay to talk about now.

I think long term it is an inevitability. Humans would mostly all like to prolong their lives. Or make them better by some means.
