Where she says Abbot's ads about what she says are lies. Is his ad where she says they are missing the third leg of the stool - state income tax- taking what she said out if context?

Same. She's got about as much of a chance of winning as we do with Reed at QB.
Too soon?

It's a political ad, so just assume it's a lie. By both parties and all candidates.

But my question remains. Is she lying when she says Abbot is lying.

Hinojosa gave an interview to KXAN-TV in February 2016, when she was a candidate for the legislative seat.
Hinojosa discussed a state income tax, "We rely so heavily in this state on property taxes, too heavily in my opinion, because we don't have the third leg of that stool that's required to have a robust and strong and resilient economy, which would include income taxes. We don't have that in the state of Texas, so we rely so heavily on property taxes and sales tax because we're missing that third leg of that stool."

She has not outright supported an income tax that I can find in terms of actually pushing for one to be passed.
She has however previously stated that school funding is missing the "third leg" of an income tax and voted against the Constitutional amendment to outlaw income taxes.

I think that's obvious. It's just that they are both mostly telling the truth. She has not outright supported an income tax thus far but it doesn't take a massive leap to understand she supports the concept of one. She is largely going to deny supporting one because it would be a massive negative for her in a statewide position in Texas.

I love how her (Gina Hinojosa) first and only commercial that I've seen starts out with
"By now you've heard the lies about me" or something.
Someone needed to tell her that we hadn't even heard of her before that.

You are correct. Until two weeks ago, I didn't know who the Democrat candidate what.
. Thank youYouBet said:Tex100 said:

So Abbott is telling the truth. She wants a state income tax.
And setting aside the Abbott ad, she's a ****ing democrat. Of course she wants a state income tax.

What bothers me is that the Dems/Libs for some reason want a State Income Tax when Texas apparently has a balanced budget, is actually trying to cut Property Taxes and has a full rainy day fund. We seem to have enough money to meet our needs plus a reserve.
I seriously doubt that Dems/Libs would be inclined to lower Property Taxes or Sales Taxes if they got a State Income Tax. So why do they think we need an income tax ? ?

the government is going to need a lot more money to house, feed, and care for millions of migrants they invite to come over for free stuff and for the government to change the climate and to end fossil fuels.

You're on a POLITICS board and your flex, along with almost a dozen stars is that you admit to not knowing who the Democrat candidate for governor is?
I fully think she'll be blown away, but I won't brag about ballot ignorance
