I have hated every ad ever run by the government. I get it that this is getting more attention at this moment because of Trump but I had just as big of issue with the vac ads from 2021, the highway construction signs, etc. We as tax payers shouldn't be paying for any of it.

I would love to get rid of Franking privileges as well.

Guessing you don't think the Ad Council ads to carry Naloxone around with you every where you go JIC you come across a drug overdose is a viable and efficient use of tax payer dollars?

Nope. How many people find out about this from government ads? The Pharma companies that make the drug are more than happy to pay for those ads.

How is it a "campaign" ad if he doesn't need to run another campaign?

Like Trump said in Dallas, vote like I'm on the ticket. His ego has convinced himself that if he just reminds people of how great he is and how much they should like be him, then they will vote Republican.

Clay Travis said this morning that if Trump could run in 2028 then he would likely win.

Of course he said Reagan and Clinton would have won third terms too. Clinton maybe but the Lewinsky **** would have played non stop. Reagan was well into Alzheimer's / dementia and I don't think they could have put him in a basement la Biden to campaign in 98.

Back to Trump, our Country is blessed to have him back for this second term. By 2028 it will be time to move on.

Nothing in these ads is promoting a government service (Obamacare), or benefit. It is a pro Trump ad with people praising Trump, Trump images, and a creepy AF soundtrack of just the line "LOVE ME" repeated over and over. This is North Korea level crap. Nobody should be defending the use of tax money for vanity projects like this.
His poll numbers are in the tank and his staff is trying to boost his fragile ego. So he gets fawning wet kiss ads like this and "campaign" stops in States like Oklahoma where his support is still better than average.

Why does all of it bother you so much?

The same reason it should bother you and me, it is a waste of OUR tax dollars.

It bothers me, just not any more than any garden variety federal government waste, of which there are myriad bigger examples than this.

It's not a waste at all. It's getting a much needed message out that MSM refuses to report honestly on.

If we had a press worth a ****, he would not need to do it.

Pretty straightforward.

Again I ask what Biden's border money was spent on. Trump achieved things and used the excess to get the message out.

I imagine some of the other PSAs are funded by separate departments. So maybe DoW paid for the Iran one. Who knows.

But it's worth it.

What is the much needed message that the public needs to hear so bad that the government should pay for it?

Funding sources for PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) ads in the United States include federal grants, contracts, and cooperative agreements from agencies like the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the CDC. These funds support HIV prevention activities, including awareness campaigns for PrEP.

If you think a trump hype video with "love me" being repeated in the background is an appropriate use of taxpayer dollars I don't know how to take you seriously.

Tax payers shouldn't have to foot the bill to give Trump a reach around.

In summary, the promotion of one's accomplishments constitutes what is classified as a 'campaign' advertisement. Got it. Stored away for future reference.

Not really.

The PSA ads run by previous administrations were paid for by funds specifically slated by Congress for buying ads to promote the programs they were produced for. That's not true, here.

They were also vetted for partisanship. If they weren't, you'd still be hearing bellyachin' from the other side.

If you think otherwise, perhaps you could find a YouTube of such by more than one administration (just to confirm your "all ads by any administration" allegation).

It should be easy.

Sure. Then don't take me seriously.

Because when your outrage is always one sided, then no one takes you seriously.

If he isn't running for anything, why is out campaigning? This claim is either totally disingenuous or totally ignorant to what is going on. I guess if the Dems win the house and the senate, it doesn't matter to Trump.

Just like if someone says this just happens to be a PSA running before the midterm. I hated when Obama did his Obamacare ads around the same time and it is just as bad when this admin does it. The simple answer is why does the governement need to advertise anything. It isn't like we have a choice in service providers and what they do gets plenty of free media coverage.

Since you're implying he's campaigning, answer the question. What office is he running for?
You can turn off signatures, btw

The government has run ads promoting government projects and initiatives for years. I'm gonna have to see how this is demonstrably different before I tun into the streets crying, screaming, and self flaggelating.

After the 55 mph speed limit passed, FOR YEARS, they ran TV ads attempting to justify it. It was under the guise of telling everyone what the law was, but the intent (drum up popularity for it) was clear. This was most definitely under the Carter administration (though the act itself was signed into law by Nixon). The ads said something to the effect of, "its not just a good idea; its the law."

I seriously doubt the DNC paid for those ads.

That it's a "campaign" ad is evidenced by the fact he ran it during his 2024 campaign for President. How can you argue that it isn't?

The law that applies, however, doesn't care whether or not it's a campaign ad. It prohibits the government from paying for political ads.

It's not a political ad. It's not a campaign ad.

It's a public service announcement letting everyone know the truth vs dem lies.

Leftists use NGO's funded by the Government/taxpayer all the time to pay for their 'messaging' aka protesters such as BLM/Antifa etc (which are then dutifully broadcast/amplified by their faithful propaganda press corps).

Fortunately ActBlue is low on funds these days (and execs are pleading the 5th about foreign donors left and right) so they are at the bottom of the barrel right now.

Hopefully the funds are diverted to the poll watching program rolling out.

The previous administration spent BILLIONS of taxpayer $$$ knowingly importing, settling and giving $$ and benefits to illegal immigrants in clear violation of existing U.S. immigration laws and the Constitution.

IDGAF about these ads compared to all the traitorous, treasonous and anti American activities under Biden.
