because they are able to use their relatively small numbers, their rugged terrain for hiding, and their access to major oil traffic checkpoints and oil producing nations to execute guerilla warfare style operations that create strategic havoc and increase risk for everyone else.

plus they are armed for "free" by Iran and its allies because they benefit from the chaos.

For as much as the collective Muslim world dislikes the a West, they hold a disdain for each other that is only slightly less.

Where we would say the enemy of my enemy is my friend, to many in the Muslim world the enemy of their enemy is also their sworn enemy.

Saudi and Yemeni relationshipsare a mess and I think it's a mess in Yemen with the Houthi

They are the government of Yemen, they moved past being a regional terrorists political movement years ago.

They control the country now, and the locals dont care, they are busy being addicted to Khat.

if this group was located as they are in foreign countries then our FBI would/could regulate accordingly, but they are causing their havoc from other countries. This is why they must be considered when making decisions in foreign policy.

The Proxy war is much different than a Nation war. Taking care of the Blowfish would be much easier.

Even when they've banded together to fight they still get their asses kicked. See their losses vs Israel

They are basically a few hundred thousand true believer Shia Muslims that are chew khat all day and are stoned and don't care about dying. Their gatherings look like Toyota Tacoma conventions. They are well armed and hard to kill and all they have to do is create chaos. The Saudis are the exact opposite.
