Russia does not seem to be limiting its campaign of subterfuge to the European continent.

In a press release late Tuesday night, the Justice Department detailed charges against Kremlin assets who set out to commission targeted killings and other terroristic acts inside America. Although not yet in custody, the defendants are accused of serving as "high-ranking" officials within the "RIS network," which has links to Russia's domestic security and military intelligence services. Their goal was to spill blood and sow chaos inside the U.S.

Via the DOJ:

Quote:

Most recently, this summer, the RIS Network recruited an individual based in the United States ("U.S. Resident-1") to surveil and murder a prominent Russian dissident they believed to be residing in the United States. Among other things, SUAREZ sent U.S. Resident-1 two locations associated with Victim-1 to surveil; provided U.S. Resident-1 with explicit instructions on how to conduct surveillance; and promised U.S. Resident-1 between $1,000 and $1,500 to carry out the pre-operational surveillance. In turn, U.S. Resident-1 conducted the requested surveillance and passed back to SUAREZ multiple photographs and videos of locations associated with Victim-1. SUAREZ and CASTRO further offered U.S. Resident-1 $40,000 to "eliminate" or "disappear" Victim-1 and, when U.S. Resident-1 told them that he did not want to carry out the murder by his own hand, asked U.S. Resident-1 if he knew "someone [who] can do the work." SUAREZ also told U.S. Resident-1 that he had "people in Mexico" who could otherwise carry out the murder, but they were delayed in doing so. In addition, SUAREZ attempted to recruit multiple other individuals within the United States to conduct pre-operational surveillance and murder Victim-1 and other potential targets within the United States, and offered them substantial sums of money to carry out the targeting of the U.S.-based victims.

Assistant Attorney General for National Security John Eisenberg couldn't have been more succinct in his summary of the Russian plot. "These defendants allegedly operated as part of a global assassination network that reached into the United States," he said, "attempting to recruit U.S. citizens and foreigners to carry out killings at the behest of the Kremlin."

This is from the US Attorneys Office at https://www.justice.gov/usao-sdny/pr/members-russian-intelligence-services-network-charged-conspiring-finance-terrorism-and

Quote:

United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, Jamie McDonald, Attorney General for the United States, Todd Blanche, Assistant Attorney General for National Security, John A. Eisenberg, Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation ("FBI"), Kash Patel, Assistant Director in Charge of the New York Field Office of the FBI, James C. Barnacle, Jr., and Assistant Director in Charge of the Washington Field Office of the FBI, Darren B. Cox, announced today the unsealing of charges against five individuals working for the intelligence services of the Russian Federation to conduct attacks and murders around the world, including in the United States. As detailed in the unsealed indictment, the network is alleged to have, among other things, paid and attempted to pay individuals within the United States and elsewhere to conduct pre-operational surveillance and carry out targeted killings, and commissioned associates to commit and attempted to commit acts of terrorism against civilian and military infrastructure in European countries that are aligned, or perceived to be aligned, with Ukraine. The defendants remain at large.

...

Since at least in or about 2024, a network of individuals working for the intelligence services of the Russian Federation (the "RIS Network") has conspired to conduct and conducted attacks and murder around the world, including within the United States. The RIS Network is one arm of the Russian Federation's apparatus to carry out external attacks, including murder, around the world, which has focused on Russian dissidents and defectors and, most recently, on nations perceived as allies of Ukraine. Most recently, members of the RIS Network have attempted to recruit multiple individuals within the United States to carry out pre-operational surveillance and murder within this country.

There's a lot more in the release.

Soon the Russians (mob) will be fighting the Chinese (white liberals) on U.S. soil. That would be interesting.

If Putin is smart, he should be doing his best to make sure that the Democrats take over Congress, Senate, and the Presidency.

He saw under Biden what the Democrats are capable of.

Under Biden, our military became a Social experiment, our economy was in the toilet, and over 10 million illegals were allowed to enter the country.

Putin's disinformation campaign to convince MAGA that democrats are actually more dangerous enemies than totalitarian autocrats that attack American allies......it seems that campaign is going quite well.

Russia isn't communist and you might want to look into who its most ardent supporters are here in the United States. You might not like what you find.

You went with the OP and the National Review being Putins chosen mouthpiece for a disinformation campaign designed to somehow misrepresent the DSA as being socialist?

Did you think about your comment at all before making it? Cause it's so unreasonable it just feels like trolling.

No disinformation is required to come to this conclusion. One only needs to review Democrats actions, rhetoric, and realized and potential access to the levers of power. The Democrats may not pose an immediate threat like a traditional military adversary, but over time their desire to destroy American exceptionalism poses a far greater threat than cold war infiltration ever did.

Of course both threats can be traced back to Marxism, but the Democrats have added racial and religious hatred as tools to divide instead of only using social hierarchy like traditional Marxism.

The Democrat party has absolutely no redeeming value and it's nothing more than a cancer infecting this great nation.

Furthermore, their malfeasance and corruption has allowed incompetence and corruption to run rampant in the Republican party. The lesser of two evils doesn't really have to do anything to get elected frequently enough to stay relevant.

The only way this stops is for the left to reject their propaganda sources and realize they are no better and far more encompassing than the Fox News Boogeyman they constantly whine about.

It could be that the leftist radicals in the DSA are a serious internal threat and at the same time Putin's regime in Russia are also hostile to the USA and have been seeking to destabilize the USA with internal conflict to keep us sidelined from any intervention.

It's ok to understand that Russia was wrongly used by the Democrat party against multiple GOP party members AND that they are also seriously bad actors on the world stage that have a very, very long history of doing this kind of thing across the world. Not to mention a very measurable amount of their populace and ruling elite believe they are in an existential battle against the west (headlined by America) and have been for quite some time.

Not saying this above in the OP is true, none of us here know that yet, but to dismiss it out of hand because "Dems Bad!' is rather ignorant.

ETA: What Waffle said above quite succinctly. Missed his comment.

When it comes to topics like this thread, you do not know the truth or even a fraction of it. Hell, one might suggest you think the opposite is true. The best you get out of this are new plots for shows like Lioness (The best current show since Homeland).

Asking fellow comrades, I would like to know because of the political temp happening in the world, are the Russians using the 1917 National Anthem, 1944 Anthem or sticking with the current National Anthem. Of course this is just for educational purposes only.
