The vast majority of her followers now want insane men invading the safe spaces and jobs they fought for while also supporting a blood cult that supports the rape of children as part of their society and treats the women as cattle who are not allowed to show their face in public.

I am of the age when Steinem was at the center of the emerging feminist movement. (Along with Betty Freidan, Bella Abzug and Erica Jong.)
Bra burning was silly to me and overly histrionic instead of impactful symbolism even to my young brain.
Having said that, she was smart enough to put the focus on more women running for political office which I felt was impactful (for better or for worse.)
So for that reason alone, she has a place in history. Condolences to her friends and family.

Their initial goals of better treatment for women in the workplace, women being able to get credit from banks, etc. were fine. Its the avalanche of social destruction that followed after those initial goals were met that is the problem. Want to know why people aren't getting married, staying married and raising kids together in stable 2-parent households in anywhere near the numbers required to avoid population declines? The feminist movement spun way out of control and has practically eliminated traditional family formation in much of the atheist west. Women will not really be happy as long as they reject traditional female roles and insist upon being low-res copies of men. Men sure as hell won't be happy and millions of kids being raised without fathers will certainly suffer for this wholesale rejection of God's design.

That is often the case with radicals. Once they get their first objective accomplished they don't stop being radicals. They have to find another cause, or they are out of a job. They usually move on to crazier things or just fight for their tribe for the sake of fighting. In the end, Gloria Steinem's wasn't really fighting for the tribe of women. She was just another screeching Democrat who adopted the cause of women only when it was convenient
Always interesting to discuss Steinem and her role in the feminist movement. There were two competing sides emerging from the 60s. Steinem's side was more radical, insisting the world change to suit women. She started Miss magazine to promote this ethos. This turned into what Rush called the "feminazi" movement and its effects are still felt.
The other camp said hey it's a man's world so women should simply exploit men to get what they want. This was promoted notably by Helen Gurley Brown after she took over Cosmo in 1965.

Feminism, like the Democratic party, has evolved from helping those that supported them to organizations that seek power for that is the only way that they will enforce their philosophies.
