Good, now sell the other 99.99% and put it towards the debt he, and other libs, are building up for us.

Trump is also outstanding at building debt. Evidently you have not been paying attention.

We have been paying attention since Obama.

This is the perfect epitome of Trump-induced liberal rage.

A trinket of public land used for a private road so that folks can visit a national park without taking the long way around.

Already I'm seeing on Reddit that they must be planning to blast his face into El Capitan.

And the suggestion that a road is, perhaps, just a road?

Right wing hate speech.

Love it.
I can't imagine what their reaction was when they found out about Lake America. Anytime someone tries to claim F16 is the worse place on the Internet, I just laugh. This board is kind compared to most. Which is saying something.

How much of that is from entitlements that one side expands every time they get power and the other side refuses to cut?

The debt will never be trending in the right direction until folks are willing to give up their social security and Medicare.

Oh no, a 1/4 mile parcel out of 1200 square miles. The horror.

Anyway….

Well it would be. If you changed the name to Biden or Obama.

President Trump's is giving a parcel of the Yosemite National Park to connect parcel to construct a short road to connect the parcel to a central Yosemite route in exchange for equally valuable property in California. I am glad this is sparking outrage from both of California's senators, National Park Service supporters, and environmental advocates. Screw them!

Couple of thoughts…

What are the odds this developer has or will give money to some of the politicians or their campaigns associated with this decision? Maybe they have a big wallet full of Trump coin stashed away on the blockchain someplace that they show off to their "friends"…

How do they determine the fair comparable value of this land, to determine what the govt will get in return? It's surely not an acre for acre swap. I'd say the price for an acre of Yosemite NP on the open market would be staggering. Hopefully we get real value for that.

However, as someone who loves going to national parks, every time I'm in Yellowstone or Grand Tetons, I find myself thinking they need more lodging options. Open up even a hundred acres of national forest outside West Yellowstone, Jackson (good luck with that), or Gardiner for hotels or employee housing. It's greatly needed.

To me it's the developer's fault for buying in that location. Where is this equally valuable land they wish to exchange it is place.

Leave Yosemite the F alone.

I stay away from that cesspool (reddit). If it represents more than 5% of America, we are screwed.

I think we should close all national parks to all visitors for eternity, because if we dont, so.e of Trump's friends or the progeny of those friends might get rich.
It takes a special kind of brainwashed useful idiot to politically defend government fraud, waste, and abuse.

the irony being that there have been huge efforts and successes of those rich friends buying land and putting it into permanent conservation.

Hell, Grand Teton would be much smaller had the park not received additional private lands and nearly all of the land between Tetons and YS is Rockefeller conservation land.

Knowing Trump if he is using the office to do a favor it's going to actually be America that benefits from it.

It's to create a private road to an OUTSIDE development.

But there's also no named sources..

  • The Developer: Nevada-based investment firm Kingsbarn Realty Capital, led by CEO Jeff Pori.
  • The Location: An 83-acre private plot known as Hazel Green, located just outside the western boundary of Yosemite.
  • The Plan: Building a road under a half-mile long to connect the private land directly to an existing park road.
  • It is called an easement and it is common in real-estate.

Let me give you a little business 101. Don't sell long term assets to cover short term debt. Fifteen years from now you have $30 trillion in debt and no assets.

Agreed. oil leases, grazing leases, timber leases ,,,…

While not desirable it is what happens when you go bankrupt. Your assets get liquidated.
