Regardless of why, I don't think I've seen America -- from far left to far right -- this united in their feelings about something/someone since 9/11. I honestly didn't think it possible anymore. There's a lesson in that somewhere. God bless her.

Yes but every liberal is praising her also for being a supporter of LGBTQ rights. Both sides are remembering her in different ways. I am not a liberal. Just reading celebrities and politicians posts.

I think Dolly was "live and let live." She didn't criticize it, but she wasn't an activist about it either like most left-leaning artists tend to be. She didn't avoid partnering with artists or others who were clearly conservative. She talked a lot more about her personal faith and focused on being kind to everyone. She was well established long before social activism became such a pressure for entertainers, but she didn't change who she was after that became a thing to do.

When I see these left-leaning artists giving her so much praise, I'm actually encouraged - because Dolly was probably the most authentic voice for the gospel that many of those people would ever be willing to actually listen to and take to heart. She wasn't perfect, but I think she genuinely wanted to show people God's love and humbly share her story.

Brandi Carlile had a great message about Dolly yesterday that talked a lot about Dolly's faith. That is likely a subject she would typically steer away from given her audience and "activist" brand with the LGBTQ community.

I think the current social climate makes it nearly impossible for someone to walk that line and not be a "purist" from either side of the spectrum in the entertainment world, but I think Dolly at least left an example. We could use more like her.
