I would have been good 10 years ago, but I probably have a lot of fat now. Not marbled like Kobe steak just gross fat. Plus I'm older and my muscles would be stringy.

Getting my knee replaced on Monday, so I should be a good part of the cannibal hunting group after some rehab. Zeroed in my Keltec Sub SDP last night. It's good at 50 yards, which isn't bad for a nub sub. I had to take down my 100 yard target so I need to find a place to put up a new one. But for longer distances, I have a couple 308s which my buddy (absolute gun nut) already zeroed in probably at a lot farther range than that. I need some more 308 ammo but he makes his own and made me some armor piercing rounds.

So unless you have walls, food for dozens, extreme isolation, a militia, very good organization for defenses and an ironclad policy against negotiating with terrorist. It's just not gonna work out.

I put up a lora node around a decade ago to water some trees in the pasture in an area where I have no power or water. I had a moisture sensor transmitting over lora and when the soil moisture was low enough, a home assistant automation would set a valve to open for 5-10 minutes until the moisture meter read in range again. I was lazy and didn't want to water by hand or monitor water levels in IBC totes, so it worked pretty well for that.

Even with a tall antenna on a hill, I had to cut trees for the signal to reach the valley.

I was playing around with ATAK and meshtastic at the time, and could only go ~3/4 of a mile down the highway and still ping my repeater. ATAK is super cool with commercial radios where you can get some distance with higher watts and more bandwidth.

Thanks. Most of it I had to repair. I like tinkering, antiques, fixing stuff, and technology even old technology. I've got stuff from 1940 through the 1960s in my collection and I try to use it all. I have four complete primary boat anchor (antique) stations that I have on the air on a regular basis.
