The ones in the middle-left know what happened in New York is like ultra-maga winning in deep red areas.

And even if these three win, they're all of three. At best, they're the new "Squad," which in the real world means nothing when ALL the votes are tallied.

Every new lib is the next worst (fill in the blank), but these three are as likely to get anything actually changed in the exact way they want as we are. Hell, we'd have a better chance if I really think about it.

Socialism is the means to an end...

As we rapidly approach the 25th anniversary of the horror of September 11th, NYC continues its transformation into an Islamic caliphate.

And yet the middle left would still vote for the communist if given a choice between a communist or a person because (D).

Yeah, but the left says the same about the right when the right votes whoever the left is calling a "fascist" so I see that as a wash.

Where the right beats out the left, though, is when their fringe (far-far-faaar) right folks still fall in line and vote for the GOP candidate regardless.

The left's fringe eff'tards don't do that. They take their feels and vote third-party candidate or stay home.

At least you guys stay united in the end,

Well, I don't really care what the left says about the "far right" because the far right is a myth in this country. It doesn't exist in any numbers that matter. Meanwhile, we have open communists who are on record hating the USA winning Dem primaries and general elections in multiple blue areas across the country.

Furthermore, anyone that is to the right of Mao is considered far right by these people. There is no "both sides" in this discussion. There are the Democrats who are rapidly adopting the evil of communism and then there is the rest of us.

Now, what could ultimately happen is a self-fulfilling prophecy where the left in this country manifests Fascism into reality as a cure for the disease of leftism.

Probably a post for the R&P board but what the hell.

This is all starting to feel a bit ominous isn't it.? It may not be one person, but a group of people, rising from the east. Whispering in the ears of those who are vulnerable with venom and making it taste like sugar.

This is a rapid change in our country. This is happening so much faster than anyone could imagine, and, to me, I can't help but think there's something darker to all of this. It just feels like the curd and whey are being separated in this world. Lines are being drawn in the sand

No, this is the future of the Democratic party now. It's not contained to NYC, it's also Seattle, Los Angeles, etc. San Francisco ironically seems to have escaped lunacy orbit with Mayor Lurie. It's hard to undo what decades of bad governance and neglect have done.

Structurally, I think it's lazy to blame this on immigrants. This is a result of the young being priced out of the American Dream. They are angry and will listen to anyone who tells them if you just tax the wealthy and businesses more your life will get better. This is of course doomed to fail, but it's easy politics. Where I think I'll get more pushback from this board is I view MAGA and Trumpism from roughly the same prism.

But back to your point, I think we should be cleareyed about where momentum is in politics, and it is currently with those who's policy choices would further hurt rather than improve America.

New York is not an American city. There are no New Yorkers left there.

What does that mean? Seriously, New York for the last 200+ years has been a city of immigrants constantly in flux. I think what you mean, is that it's a different subset of immigrants infusing into the mix.

At what point do we become America and not a nation of immigrants. I guess we will never have our own values, culture, etc... I'd think that after 250 years we would, but apparently not. It seems that for about 220 years we did, but per you, we did not.

Have you ever lived in New York?

My dad worked for Shell Oil and we lived in 6 different states, including 3 years in New York, back in the day Shell's US HQ's was there before relocating to Houston. Other spots included the San Fran Bay Area, the Chicago area, and the St. Louis area.

Many of these places do have an identity……….an observable culture or set of cultures. Houston does. San Fran does. New York………It's such a massive and diverse set of people, to me, it's just different. It's like a 100 cities within a city. It's kinda like the whole world and its religions and cultures in one area. Always has been.

If you think i'm wrong let me ask you this. How would you describe the NY Culture and values of the 1970's…….80's……90's…..etc. How does it differ from today?

At this point, why anyone would want to live there is a complete mystery!

Same as the Rs.

Regarding the socialism wing of the Dem Party, we don't need socialism.

But we also should not accept the 1875-1932 Gilded Age version of plutocratic capitalism we're currently in.

What we need in the USA is a return to 1933-1980 capitalism that was intentionally structured and regulated to build and sustain a very large middle class.

We have been moving away from that principle since 1981.

it is not some type of unique religious awakening

People like me were WARNING ABOUT THIS FOR YEARS

when the population starts to turn against the Jews- it's the canary in the coal mine and pretty soon everyone else is going down as well.

for YEARS since 9/11 we were warning the West and the USA not to allow millions of invading Muslims into the countries.

now you see the results-

no one like Mamdani existed outside Uganda until the US government/leftists let in millions of immigrants who do not share our cultural values
