Wasn't sure where else to post this, but funny conversation this morning before worship in North Carolina:
Older man from church came up to me before Bible class and told me: "I saw a great documentary yesterday about Bud Yuppers."
I was waiting somewhat stone-faced for him to tell me who in the world Bud Yuppers is. At the same time, he looked at me like I was crazy... because as an Aggie, he fully expected me to recognize the significance of the name. Fortunately, he provided more context...
You know… led his Rangers up the cliffs of Pointe du Hoc, later became president of Texas A&M.
Earl Rudder!!! Though I like the name Bud Yuppers, too.
Regardless of the name concocted out of thin air, was great to have a friend approach me to talk about the late, great General Rudder.
PS A google search brought back nothing on Yuppers. :/
