Maybe there's not a need to dump 10+ million into the Texas race. Talarico just produces quality ads for Paxton daily by running his mouth anyway.
All is proceeding as I have foretold. The national groups are withholding their money because Paxton is not a uniparty squish like Cornyn. And when he loses because they refused to fund a "winnable race", we will be told it was because he was a terrible candidate (unlike their buddy Cornyn) and not because the uniparty "moderates" in the GOP-e refused to support him.
Thank goodness Elon is funding the American PAC for Texas politicians.

You are missing the point. Not saying I think he will lose. I am saying the GOP-e wants him to lose and will actively do whatever they can to try to make it happen. It is what they do every time their squish candidates lose a primary.

You can't blame a this on a liberal leaning poll. Paxton better get to work or we will be stuck with a socialist freak.

Foxnews polls are notorious for overstating democratic support. It's almost become a caricature poll.

Fox Polls have been garbage forever, and always make the Democrat look better. And there is no way Abbott is only up by 1 point on someone who few even know exists.
Truly, they'd love for the Democrats to sweep everything in November so they can then go back to their preferred position, that of the "loyal opposition".

- Talarico is the first candidate in any public general-election poll to crack 50 percent this year.
- The three-point edge is inside the margin of error, so it's still a dogfight but the direction of travel is not flattering for the Attorney General.
- Independents are breaking hard for Talarico (68 percent).
- Roughly one in four non-MAGA Republicans are voting for the Democrat.
- Democrats are more "extremely motivated" to vote than Republicans by seven points.
- More voters worry Paxton lacks the character for the job (59 percent) than worry Talarico is too extreme (47 percent). That particular comparison should sting.
- Abbott is basically tied with Hinojosa in the gubernatorial poll
- Not in the poll, but... Talarico's campaign has $21.5 million on hand. Paxton has $1.76 million.
- Also not in the poll but... Paxton has not yet received money from MAGA Inc or the Senate Leadership Fund.

Surely he will be the one that can turn Texas blue, this time.

Polls in July are meant to stir up the base. This is Fox telling "the right" that Texas might turn purple and we'd better our **** together. It ain't gonna happen but this is how Fox does their part to keep it from happening.
He is another defund the police, trans rights, open borders, you'll own nothing and be happy card carrying socialist (communist).
He won't win. If he does it will be suburban white women who sell out the state and eventually the country.

Seems like the last place the dems do any Texas candidate fundraising is in Texas. Or at least anywhere off the east/west coasts. But they're totally doing it for the citizens the prospective candidate is supposed to represent and not to increase their party's power at the federal level, right?
Libs used to siphon government money from USAID. Soros got $250 million for his NGO. That dried up but it appears there is a new source.
No way this money comes from private donors.

the political cult of evangelism doesn't tolerate Christians who aren't republicans. calling talarico a heretic is an immune response that's more political than religious.
Agnostic here. Talarico could have never utterred a single word about his version of Christianity...instead sticking only to his positions on taxes, open borders, trans men in women's sports, capitalism and free markets, and the sterilization/mutilation of minors in the name of "gender affirmation" to dislodge from him any support from me.
Of all of his positions on the subjects laid out in the above paragraph, which are you for and against?

But what's interesting...I continue to hear him referred to as a 'very strong Christian' and 'Christian Pastor'...so it's working on a lot of uninformed people. That's why he keeps doing it...to distract suburban moms from his actual positions, while also pandering to the extreme left ideals (which you mentioned).
Listening to the radio the other day, his name came up, and the talking head said...'He's like a Super Devoted Christian Pastor, but watch the right try to convince everyone he's really the antichrist or something'. Not only are they being absolutely suckered, they think anyone who isnt is just making crap up.

I highly doubt he answers that. He doesn't get paid to defend their positions, just to attack republicans.
this is what i'm talking about. this is a political argument wearing the thin veneer of a religious one. it's reductive and dogmatic to collapse Christianity to a purity test on abortion and LGBT issues. calling talarico a heretic is nothing more than political virtue signaling for evangelicals.TheEternalOptimist said:Old McDonald said:Aggie Dad Sip said:Whoop2 said:

What we don't tolerate are those who claim to be Christian while endorsing the wholesale slaughter of human beings in the womb OR those who embrace sexual deviancy and redefining the Biblical definition of marriage. You can NOT be a Christian and endorse any of the above. To do so invalidates any claims to Christian faith.

Unbelievable wow incredibly ignorant you are about Biblical scripture and teachings. Talafreakco's positions are without question antithetical to Christianity. There is only one truth and pathway to the Almighty through Jesus Christ.

You are aware though...that the word 'heretic' has an actual definition?
And if you listen to his own words, he certainly fits that description.
It's not 'virtue signaling'. It's simply accurate.
