up against PHD Julia Letlow (R-Babe) who is backed by POTUS Trump

a third strong candidate I know nothing about.

right now 21% of vote is in with Letlow in the lead

need to clear 50% to avoid runoff

Letlow's campaign site in NO WAY reads like a RINO. How she'll govern (if she wins), well, we don't know.

This Fleming guy should just do everyone a favor and just concede tonight. Dont waste the time and the $$ with a runoff. I just did the math he could get 75% of the Cassidy voters and still lose pretty significantly.

I would imagine the Cornyn camp is in a fetal position tonight.
The danger to America is not Biden/Harris but a citizenry capable of entrusting them with the presidency. It will be easier to undo the follies of their ideas than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to an electorate willing to have such a pair for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Biden, who is a mere symptom of what ails us. Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that put them in place to lead.

I've been hearing the "seniority" argument for Cronyn for 2 or 3 election cycles. Look what it has gained us. Seniority doesn't mean a thing if you don't use it on behalf of your constituents. Better to start building seniority now for new members than to keep waiting.

the problem with Cornyn / Paxton is that it would be better for the GOP to have Cornyn gone-

but with Paxton we may lose the seat to faker Talarico and end up cutting off our nose to spite our face

at least with Letlow- it's a total upgrade in every respect for the Republican party.

This is exactly correct. We get in a loop where we're afraid to nominate a new guy but then the old guy doesn't do anything for us anyway.

Everybody is for the Save America Act except Thune. Everybody is for the SAA until it comes time to vote.

Paxton should come out again and say he will drop out if the SAA passes.

I hope he does this, they pass the SAA, he stays on the ballot, and still beats Cornyn. That is what establishment republicans deserve.
