What if it was a delegation declaring the state an Islamic, Hindu, or Wiccan state?

because anyone who knows anything about US history knows that would be ridiculous

Anyone that knows anything accurate about US history knows that forcing ANY certain religion is ridiculous.

Let's be very honest here

When the founding fathers created this country, they founded it on Judeo-Christian morality and Western enlightenment thought.

When they said freedom of Religion, they were saying no official state Christian Church but that the people could worship Christ in whatever manner they choose.

They were not envisioning a future where this country welcomed a non-Christian religion whose values were the absolute antithesis of Judeo Christian and Western Enlightenment thought and wanted us to tolerate and welcome such an ideology and hand our country over to it.

You posted numerous incorrect statements.

However the one arguably accurate thing you posted is: they wouldn't have wanted us to "welcome such an ideology and hand our country over to it".

Btw, if you look backwards in history just 200 years before 1780, Christianity was a horrendously evil and bad religion.

So, 500 years ago and totally irrelevant to this conversation even if accurate.
It is very relevant. Hamilton, Jefferson, Madison, Monroe, Henry, Adams, etc were acutely aware of the many evils done in the name of religion, and they were also acutely aware of the vast history of oppression, evil, power, and authoritarianism done by religion and state working together in concert. Which was still occurring in most European nations in 1780, btw.

To understand what the Pilgrims were escaping from in England, consider the following points:
  • Religious persecution from the Church of England, which imposed strict religious conformity.
  • Desire for freedom to practice their own form of Christianity without interference.
  • Economic hardships and lack of opportunities in England.
  • Political instability and conflicts during the early 17th century.
  • Social pressures and discrimination against dissenters and nonconformists.
  • The hope for a new life and community in the New World where they could establish their own society.

The Declaration of Independence and U.S. Constitution were based mostly on secular ideas and principles. The main architects of our current system of government were well read and heavily influenced by writings and ideas from the history and philosphy of ancient Greece and Rome, and from some of the fundamental principles in English law, and by Enlightenment era and contemporary-era philosophers and thinkers John Locke, Montesquieu, Hobbes, Hume, Adam Smith, Voltaire, and Hutcheson.

Completely wrong. It was not founded on secular ideals, and this modern day gaslighting by the left is disgusting and most of us arent buying your BS. You can literally read the writings of the founding fathers to know exclactly why they did everything

Whilst several were deists, which does not make one secular or their ideals secular, a bit the opposite, the majority were Christian.

Charlie Kirk also studied and read many of the philosophers and thinkers… does not mean he adopted those ideals to replace his Christian faith… contrary to whatever Candace and Tucker are cooking up these days.
