I see lots of hate for copilot on here, but my company has the business version installed on our Teams, and it's great for producing excel spreadsheets quickly. I wouldn't use it for personal use, but it's fine for business use.

Here's a real life example from the other day: I had a bunch of manual data that needed to be entered into a spreadsheet and separated into different tabs. I told Copilot to do this for me and it created it in seconds. I then asked it to create a chart for me with this data and it did it instantly. Im not the greatest with excel, so copilot saved me a ton of time on this.

Same. Basic time saves, upgrades, etc. It's not reinventing the wheel, but it's helping. It's help start a few PPTs that I have previously run all the numbers for. It just formats it well.

Other people have done that and you didn't respond to them. If you are having trouble, use Claude to look up use cases.

Some people just gave vague replies. I am looking for details.

I am looking for how real people use it. "check out Claude" or "Google it" does not count.

Unanswered vague reply.

My productivity is very much up (as is my law firm's across the board). It's hitting our bottom line nicely. I'm not looking forward to Claude being priced for actual value in the future.

here are 80,000 pages of documents produced by XXX Corp. separate each individual document into its own pdf, create folders for categories of documents and arrange the pdfs into them, summarize what has been produced

Summarizing is a good use case. I am working adding this to the product I am working at my job.

I read through your reply and while it is in a field I am not very familiar with, from what I could tell, your use cases are pretty cool.

Damn dude. I hadn't even though of doc review.

I have done that with 1,000,000 pages of blowback before at a six-figure cost with a crooked number on the left. Pretty sure Claude can do it in a couple of hours with higher accuracy.

Another danger of letting these AI companies get too much power. They would just become another Twitter pre-Elon and do weird things like go woke, restart DEI, hate on an elected government etc.

Yesterday they shut down a paying customer for 5 hours.

Most of the time when I have a problem with a vendor, I speak with the vendor. The fact that the complaint is launched out into the interwebs instead of being direct says a lot about the desire for attention rather than a solution.

Furthermore:

Quote:

Yesterday they shut down a paying customer, subject to an agreed upon Usage Policy, for 5 hours.

There's any number of things they could do to violate that usage policy. The primary offending use probably sits adjacent to Belo's use case - crypto fintech. Could be as simple as using consumer claude accounts to power a production or customer-facing feature - that's explicitly against the terms of use.

Belo just said they dindonuffin.

The Copilot launch was Apple Maps bad (it did basically none of the things you'd want an AI integrated into MS Office to do), but it's gotten WAY better. The integration between the one drive file system, office applications, and the AI is rock solid now.

Senor Pato is CTO of the start-up Argentine crypto wallet app "belo".

Me thinks senor hasn't read the T&Cs.

Eff'ing fan of their social media, though:

Saw a report last week that both Microsoft and Anthropic have updated their terms of service. CoPilot has now been labeled as being for for entertainment purposes only and Anthropic says Claude personal subscriptions should not be used for business or enterprise applications.

Not quite correct.

You can't build products/services on top of personal Claude.ai (Free/Pro/Max) and route users through your personal subscription - that requires the API. In other words, you can't use your subscription to provide LLM services via a product or app you deliver.

Second, you can't automate, access or use third-party harnesses to bypass the subscription model. Again, you can't bypass the main LLM just like #1. Buy an API and use it.

Data training exposure - small businesses using Pro accounts face the same data training exposure as Free users since the Sept 2025 update, unlike business accounts (AMST Legal). That means if you use a personal sub for business or company work, you may be exposing that information to Anthropic for training, etc. But you can opt out of that even with a personal account. The issue is if Anthropic were to change the policy. With a business sub, they are legally bound and can't change the policy. However , if Anthropic doesn't change the policy, using a personal account is technically no different than a biz account. No more risk and could be used with company info as far as Anthropic is concerned. They don't care. Your company would most likely not allow it.

I have a technical writer on staff and she has uploaded hundreds of thousands of manuals and technical bulletins and then had them summarized. It has increased our mechanical reliability program's efficiency by 1000%.
